For those on the fence about attending Saturday’s #NoKings protests, worried about potential violence, to date, all protests have been peaceful, even joyful. Peaceful protests are key since Trump wants violence as a premise for invoking the Insurrection Act. If you need courage, remember:

ICE must be stopped. Good for those in ICE occupied cities who are showing up to protect their neighbors.

Who knows that The Simpsons was originally a spin-off? And who can name the original, and mostly forgotten, show that it was spun-off from? Hint: It was a very creative, funny show that included some of the actors who voice The Simpsons.

And there are lots of people willing to accept you, just the way you are, if you’re willing to choose love over hate.

Some say that the path to U.S. inequality and authoritarianism started with Reagan and his dismantling of the unions, etc. Some say it was Nixon and his Southern Strategy. But really, it goes back to the demise of Reconstruction and not punishing the slave states appropriately, IMO.
