No, though it's very easy to mistake that from the way they're labeled! The first is the Baltimore City bag fee, which went into effect in 2021. This screenshot shows that fee is City-specific The next fee is a similar law passed by Baltimore County in 2023. It just has a fancier name!

"Baltimore City Bag Law fee of $0.05, effective October 2021, prohibits single-use plastic carryout bags and requires a fee for acceptable bags in businesses."

I'm chiming in with Team Hang and Team Bin. Does require sorting, tho I already hang shirts/pants/dresses to dry, so my brain likes that they stay on hangers Everything else is loose in a dedicated bin or drawer: socks, underwear, nightgowns, lounge stuff, linens, etc

here's an example from my house in Baltimore, built in the 1950s, with an AC added through a hole in the wall at some point later on. I finally removed it in 2023 when I replaced with mini-splits (via smaller holes in the walls)

there's a half dozen open windows in this house, plus and entire catio, but this is the window she needs to be in right now

the double-hung window in my shower is open a few inches at the top, since it faces a busy street and I'd rather not flash people without their consent. Ginny the irrepressible cat is standing awkwardly in the open portion with her left paws down on the latch and her right paws up in the open area, because it's not wide enough for a cat to sit comfortably

my pedantic PSA for the evening: a cross and a crucifix are not the same thing. a cross isn't a crucifix unless it's got an image of Jesus's body on it. this here object in Ilya's mouth? should not be called a crucifix. (it could, however, be called a lucky son of a bitch)

Yes, they have drains! I live in Maryland where it's super humid. We retrofitted our 1950s house with mini split heat pumps several years ago. This is the side of my house; each unit has a drain line. You can see two white squiggles in the (overgrown) garden where they end

wishing a happy birthday to @neolithicsheep.bsky.social. I've forgone the traditional drawing in favor of mixed-lab-media collage (filter paper, kimwipes, pipettes, nitrile gloves, a dropper bottle cap, and googly eyes)

a very awkward but oddly charming sheep, pictured head-on. the head and body are filter paper covered in balled-up shreds of kimwipes (aka lab tissues). legs are black pipette tips, ears and tail are fingers cut off of a black nitrile glove. the nose/muzzle is the dropper cap from a reagent bottle. there are two googly eyes because googly eyes are essential lab equipment as far as I'm concerned.

a moment of admiration for all my foremothers who did various fiber arts without the aid of led magnifying glasses

my current weaving project which is an undulating twill in shadow weave. vivid teal and berry purple colors alternate in both the warp and weft. it makes my eyes cross to look at it too closely
