We had the best time at Pride. My coworkers and their kids were so fun to hang out with. The crowds were so diverse and inclusive.
I spent more time than anticipated outdoors today, decorating our pride parade float! Also got my custom pride shirt - colleagues tie dyed them all different colours from different flags related to pride. We have the best planning committee.
Got the emergency alert and saw a water bomber do a big swing around, I assume to Grand Lake.
I took the girls to Dollar Lake after work. It was not super nice and thus not busy at all. The water was very warm though and the upgrades they did are quite nice.
I spent a couple hours this afternoon with colleagues and my kids volunteering at The North Grove. It’s always so lovely there. The kids really enjoyed it. Also they have baby chicks! One likes to ride on his mama’s back.
Fireworks in Shubie were great! The crowd was also great, super respectful, there was lots of cheering at the end of the show. Kids found friends. Such a nice community event every year.
Happy Birthday to my pupper! Gracie is 4 today and was the goodest girl at the parade this morning. I was worried about her being too warm but she seemed okay and loved greeting people.
Went up to the roof on my lunch and happened to catch the Snowbirds flying by! (Sorry I didn’t zoom in more it was so bright I could barely see my screen)
After a crazy heavy rainstorm that lasted much longer than I expected, we were treated to a double rainbow!
M went to the Weezer concert with a friend. I suggested pants and boots, knowing it gets cold when the fog rolls in. Her friend was planning to wear shorts.
Big middle finger to whoever decided this yard should be this steep. I had to give up because the mower is heavy and I keep sliding into the ditch.
Sooooo we did a thing and adopted a bunny today. His name is Squish. Gracie will not stop staring at him.
It’s there in my individual chats! This is an iPhone if it makes a difference though.
Went with a group of kids in Ocean Defenders to Anthony Park today. It was fun! We learned all kinds about the Bay of Fundy.
Brought the pup to the rugby pitch this week and she’s been so good. The mosquitoes have been brutal though! I am so itchy already.
We went swimming at Oakfield before supper and it was beautiful. The water is very low though. Most of the beach area was under water a few weeks ago.
10,000 Carrots Rabbit Rescue is doing a meet and greet at the Pet Valu. M met a rabbit named Squish and fell in love. Guess we’re getting a rabbit again!
Story time: There are missing cat posters and social media posts about this missing cat, Cupcake, who is a big fluffy black and white cat. He has been seen on our street and I saw him a couple mornings ago and messaged his owner. She said they had found him but he got back out and he roams.
I got strawberries in my way to the rugby pitch today. There are 4 left 😂 Also, there are fireflies in my yard tonight! It feels like summer.
This is the best salad in the world and I made pickled onions at 8:30 tonight specifically for it. It will be even better tomorrow 😋 Lettuce, chickpeas, pasta, cheese, pickled hot peppers and onions, Hungarian salami and a red wine vinaigrette. Could use tomatoes but I forgot them 😂
I am off today so I took Gracie for a walk on the Mastodon Trail for a change of scenery. First red flag: I picked 2 ticks off her before we even walked 1/2 km. Second red flag: she kept stopping, not wanting to go further. I coaxed her a couple times but she stopped before the 1km mark 🫠
This is how you become the main character of the day in farming country. Whoo boy the comments are not kind.
No, you made buttercream at 8 am for your child who forgot she needs it for 4-H today. 🤦🏼♀️
M did dog judging for 4-H tonight and she got to judge CORGIS! They were so sweet and cute.
J and I took Gracie for a walk on the Milford rec trails - look how many birds we heard! I am a little skeptical of the oriole, but the eastern wood pewee I definitely heard a few times.
Nuthatch and chickadees at one feeder, and my hummingbird lady friend at the other. It’s a busy morning out there. Also this hummingbird feeder is great - it has a perch all the way around, which I’ve seen her actually use, and it is easier to fill and sturdier than my previous window mounted one
I went to Superstore because time is money and J needed socks and I didn’t want to go to 2 stores. But it was terrible, as per usual. Stuff wasn’t where it should be, prices are outrageous and I was so rushed by the cashier. Also, $30 for 4 chicken breasts?! 😩
