Oi @london.gov.uk don’t cut our buses! We need buses in Hackney to get around and that includes the 67, 149, 253, 254 and 106. Tell TfL what you think of their plans here: haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/routes-106-2... and haveyoursay.tfl.gov.uk/67-149-propo...
If you haven’t seen this yet, go! Lots of showings nearby. www.nebriefing.org/screening-map
Out in #woodberrydown with the dream team @woodberrydowncllrs.bsky.social and Hackney Labour hearing about residents’ worries about having to move home.
Enjoying the new wands protecting our cycele track along Green Lanes. Thank you to Brownswood and Woodberry Down residents who pressed for these repairs and @lowtraffichackney.bsky.social and to our @hackneycouncil.bsky.social Streetscene team for getting the work done.
Another helpful bike and pedestrian crossing thanks to the last administration @hackneycouncil.bsky.social and Hackney Wick’s former Labour councillors and with plenty of rain gardens to help to green busy Cassland Road in E9 and protect us from flooding.
West Reservoir is looking better than ever after its makeover thanks to the former Labour Mayor @carolinewoodley.bsky.social @hackneycouncil.bsky.social It was so good to see groups having swimming lessons and sailing lessons, people enjoying the cafe and cool showers after a glorious swim.
The end of a very hot day when our incredibly committed socialist Labour candidates didn’t win by-elections in Hackney Central and Dalston. But Sheila Susso Runge and Grace Adebayo will always work for their communities as well do in Hackney Labour.
Watching Andy Burnham’s clear win in Makerfield and Barack and Michelle Obama’s speeches opening their Presidential Center. We’ve had so much hate and pain recently, but these speeches are filled with hope and commitment to making people’s lives better. Feeling hopeful and ready to do the work.
@coopparty London Conference today - thinking about belonging. Looking at all the brilliant work already happening in our communities. It feels like we’re in a generational moment of division and inequality and we can come together with our differences to create strength and hope.
West Reservoir - our beautiful blue space in #woodberrydown. A perfect swim at the end of a hot day and celebrating Arsenal’s premiership - North London forever!
Hackney Light and Power is the jewel in the crown of @hackneycouncil.bsky.social - great to hear Jason Powell talking about Hackney’s leadership in community energy, residential solar and the just transition to net zero. Thank you Hackney Labour for leading the way.
This year’s elderflower cordial is delicious. Managed to find some top quality flowers far away from the road thanks to all our Hackney green spaces.
Back in Woodberry Down for first ward councillor surgery after the local elections. Busy surgery and very grateful for the support of Woodberry Down residents.
Today in Woodberry Down we were doing what we do every day - supporting people who live here, getting issues sorted out, stopping ASB, getting fly tipping sorted, getting help with housing, benefits and the cost of living. Plus a lovely swim in the reservoir.
Out in the evening sunshine on Portland Rise Estate in Woodberry Down listening to residents, taking up casework and getting ready to #votelabour next Thursday 7 May.
Just voted in the #LE2026 for Hackney Labour @carolinewoodley.bsky.social and our hard working Victoria Labour candidates.
So much change in Woodberry Down. Today WDCO held a public forum with people from across the estate and from all tenures to talk about what we want from our community organisation and what we want from our community centre. Good discussion and support for local groups and for coming together.
Proud to represent the people of #woodberrydown for the last 5 years and hope you will put your trust in @sampallis.bsky.social and me to carry on working for you in #LE2026 and with our Mayor @carolinewoodley.bsky.social making Hackney the best place to live. hackneylabour.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Enjoying the Springtime evening sunlight as we talk to people around the borough about what’s important to all of us and Hackney Labour’s #LE2026 manifesto: hackneylabour.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Good to join Hackney #righttogrow this evening to discuss next steps to getting on with growing in public spaces, starting with Mass Planting Day on Sunday 19th May: hackneyrighttogrow.uk
A glorious morning in Woodberry Down, heading to the Partnership Board meeting to hear about how our new homes, job opportunities, training, public art and community spaces are coming along with wdcoresidents @hackneycouncil redmondcommunitycentre woodberry_down berkeley_group notting_hill_genesis
We support Zane’s Law: Zane Gbangbola died when flood water which passed through contaminated land and caused hydrogen cyanide gas to enter his home with tragic consequences. We’ve written to Emma Reynolds MP, Sec of State for DEFRA calling for Zane’s Law so this never happens again.
Celebrating @hackneycouncil.bsky.social’s new rapid charging point on De Beauvoir Estate with top speed charging and cheap overnight rates through Hackney Light and Power’s plans.
Did you know that over 60% of our waste comes from construction? Great @hackneycouncil.bsky.social day finding out how to make circularity the norm in our built environment. Knocking things down should be the last resort and, if we must, let’s re-use as many of the materials as possible.
Enjoyed getting into the Old River Lea today to look at the nature recovery work here with support from Green Roots funding from @mayoroflondon.bsky.social @metecoban92.bsky.social Thanks to ecologists Gideon Corby @renatureldn.bsky.social and @wildlifeian.bsky.social for all you’re doing here.
Inspiring day out on the River Lea at Leaside Trust’s Pollution Safari, working out how to clean up this beautiful river for us all to enjoy. Leaside’s long-term youth work makes nature and Hackney’s outdoor spaces part of so many young people’s lives. #hackney
We’ve replaced the signs on Churchwell Path walkway reminding us all that this is a school route for Olive Primary School, St John & St James Primary School and lots of others heading to Clapton Girls and City Academy. Thank you for cycling slowly and safely along here.
Busy busy outside Hackney Town Hall improving the footpaths and Town Hall Square for everyone to enjoy thanks to UK Gov’t funding to transform Hackney Central. consultation.hackney.gov.uk/hackneycentr...
