Looking up Midland, TX for hotels for a work trip, and this is just a gut punch. What are all these white dots, you ask? They are fracking and oil wells in the Permian Basin, the largest emitter of methane in the world. This is just this one little area. Hop on Google Maps and look for yourself.

Well, I’ve just arrived in Rothschild, WI for the Climate Fast Forward Conference with the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Letters. Mighty fine view we got here.
We made it! 🤗 It was a rainy night but spirits were not dampened. Some Anytime Arepa and Cornhole at the 3rd St. Market Hall before the show set the mood. Opening band was solid. They definitely have a “mood.” This is the boys’ third real live show. More fun memories made. Happy we went. 🥰🤘🏼
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! There will be lots of jumping and singing and yelling and air guitar. I have been having my boys practice. They are instructed to let loose. I have to be careful so I can still speak tomorrow. 😬🤘🏼
Tonight, I am having a 20 year dream come true. Not only have I tried and failed repeatedly to see Modest Mouse at all, but that I get to see them for the first time with my boys and they’re doing my favorite album. I hear this differently now and also believe that Isaac is kind of my spirit animal.
There has been 2 pieces of drafted legislation on rail safety since 2015, the other being in 2023. Many trains have derailed, spilled oil/chemicals, & exploded since 2013. The main cause of derailment is broken rail. No passed legislation, people being poisoned, nothing changes. Rail safety matters.
