Well that's depressing. They're shutting down CIPRES after the NSF cut funding.

An email. It reads:

Dear CIPRES User,

For more than 15 years, the CIPRES Science Gateway has been the premier resource for global access to phylogenetics and population genetics codes run on high-performance computing systems. Unfortunately, funding from NSF, our long-time sponsor, has ended, and revenue from subscriptions has proved insufficient to provide the level of service that our users expect and deserve. Regrettably, then, we will need to end production operation of CIPRES on March 31, 2026.

New subscriptions will continue to be accepted until September 30, 2025, but the period of service will be gradually reduced from one year to six months. User files will be retained for 30 days after the end of production to allow you to retrieve those that you want.

The CIPRES team – Mark Miller, Mark Zhuang, and myself – have appreciated the opportunity to help thousands of users around the world advance the science of evolution and wish you continued success in your endeavors.

Fun fact, the closest living relatives of whales are hippos, so whales are technically ungulates. That's alongside things like deer, cattle, antelopes and giraffes and means we find really funky fossils like this:

I couldn't find any posterior images but you might like this Eastern Banjo Frog (Limnodynastes dumerilii). It's also very Round.

An Eastern Banjo Frog. It's a dark brown frog with copper coloured mottling fading to yellow towards its belly, which is white.
It has large brown eyes with a large pupil, beneath which there's a distinct coppery stripe. Its snout is rounded and it has three long, thin toes without pads on each foot.
