I segment my LANs like a good boy, and have an IOT LAN and a USER LAN. Users go in 192.168.10.x/24, IOT devices go in 192.168.50.x/24. Wi-Fi SSID drops it into the IOT lan, but it asks for an address thats on the USER LAN. WHY THE FUCK DOESNT IT JUST ASK FOR A NEW ADDRESS?!?!?!?????

I absolutely lothe these IOT gadgets. This Birdfi device wont get an IP from my network. It auths to wifi, establishes L2 adjacency and begins DHCP. Fun part? It insists on an address that doesn’t exist on my lan and bitches because my dhcp server tells it that address ain’t valid bud.
