Natalie P (is not a vampire) 🦇
@sashette
Was "witty, beautiful and depressed," now just the latter. Occasional writer, often a nerd, living alone with CFS/ME. Semi-professional #ttrpg muse and not a vampire. LGBTQ+ folks are welcome and safe, phobes can get in the sea.
I should, briefly, point out that if you're imagining a classic gothic English church you're mistaken. The building was one of those particularly Victorian block edifices, and I even found a picture:
The Gravity Between Us by Kristen Zimmer. It's never going to win any awards for literature, but fuck me if it wasn't one of the most fun books I've ever read. I cackled with glee, had my heart soar, rolled my eyes so hard I fell backwards on the bed & bit my lip in anticipation. Just wonderful.
It's very much a "magic & tech" setting, but if you've read Alex White's "A Big Ship At The Edge Of The Universe" then you'll know how that can feel EXTREMELY sci-fi rather than fantasy with a lick of sci-fi paint. Also, go read that book and it's two sequels.
No TV, because it broke before I started moving! So my phone is hooked up to my sound bar and I'm playing the radio coverage while I'm at the new place for the evening. 💜 First game I've followed live.
Despite using Games Workshop minis and myself plus two of the play testers being GW store staff at the time, my primary inspiration for this was the Area 88 / U.N. Squadron arcade game. Or even more specifically, this screen, burned into my memory from the pages of Computer & Video Games magazine.
I think I need to contact my letting agent again to remind them FOR THE THIRD TIME that I am moving out next week. For fucks sake.
Lot of people confused by my username so hopefully this lays any lingering doubts to rest about me being a vampire. I mean, would a vampire decorate her flat like this?!
So, as I'm just relating to my gaming fam, of the 36 teaspoons I bought during my time at the old flat only 5 made it to the final day and the journey to the place I'm moving to. They've been here less than a week and I've already lost one. Had a cry. Having a Very Normal Day.
By the way, I watched The Sheep Detectives the other night. 😿
I have several tankobon before I ran out of money at the time.
Like me, they tend to provide evidence when weird shit happens:
chair.exe has failed press ctrl+alt+delete to restart
Huh. Weird that I mentioned Grand Design this morning and this evening whilst decluttering... @labaggage.bsky.social @incarcosa.bsky.social
Going to take suggestions for quick (as in, within a week) suggestions for this issue. Blinds in the new place are black and, as the attached screenshots show they're absorbing heat & radiating it into the room. Ambient room temperature in here is 32c, which even when I bring my fans over...
It's one of those things that sounds like such a shitpost, but it's true and has a catchy 90s earworm to boot.
No interest in starting more discourse, but the last couple of days have really shown me that there's a not insignificant portion of bsky who genuinely consider themselves caring, left wing and socialist but it's barely, BARELY papering over a deep streak of nationalism and xenophobia.
Decluttering has revealed something I thought long lost. It's old, ratty and no longer fits, so it's going to recycling but I took a photo for posterity of probably my favourite teenage t-shirt.
There's a definite monkey's paw there. I was just relating last night how my dentist technically has step-free access, but in reality that means a nightmare uneven patio thing that quite rapidly rises to the level of the doorway.
Tan skeleton and a tower makes me think City of Thieves original cover, and the end bad guy is Zanbar Bone, lord of the dead?
I had genuinely forgotten there's an episode of Bones that has actual Stewie Griffin in it.
As you can see there is no longer a Copilot section in the options, and the ONLY option for copying to a new notebook is a new Copilot Notebook. This is the free version. Your licensed version will probably be rolled out later, according to the MS reddit post.
This morning I've just had the shocking revelation that Microsoft have bricked OneNote. I can only continue with it if I copy all my notebook - over a decade of short fiction writing and notes, ttrpg stuff, personal things and more - into a shitty CoPilot ai notebook.
Used to love Young's Fish Pie till they went "premium" and put Salmon & Prawns in it. You can get the ones without again now, but they taste cheap and awful and the mash is terrible.
Well, I might not have to bother moving the TV. I could live with the line at the top of the screen for several months because my brain filtered it out and anything letterboxed it didn't even show. Bright white line across the middle of the screen, I can't handle.
This 2018 album has songs from 2008, a couple from 2012 and one from 2014 by a man born in 1990 on it.
