I was prompted by the brave & talented historian & public discussion facilitator
Heather Cox Richardson asking people to post videos of themselves saying:
"I am America."

I wanted to put some more umph into it for how I am feeling about the complicated celebrations for our unique country, cuz I can; it's my right to say my piece publicly, and not everybody has that right in other countries, and for that I am proud.
The poem reads:

July 4, 2026

I Am America

Put all the labels on me
Put me in whatever box can be found
or just make one up
I'll find my way out
for freedom.

Take away the light
Take the dawn from the sky
and I will spark a fireball
to keep us warm
and light a billion torches.

Trample my spirit, hell
Trample my bones
or bash my skull
I will have community rising up tenfold
in solidarity to thrive.

Parse our differences
Parse which rights some get but not me
and all will suffer
struggle is what We're made of
I am America.

He looks tired, heavy, like he can barely hold up his bloated fist he's not even trying to pump, rather just sheepishly weakly heaves not even above his shoulder. His face looks sad & defeated, as it should in this moment of USA's greatest loss on the modern world stage. Wannabe Cuban dictator Marco fucking Rubio failed to control his facial expressions all day standing behind his dear leader, and here he clearly has some big emotions he's got no cope for about the shitshow he's forever in all of history a part of creating this epic failure.
US Trade Rep Jamieson Greer is behind them against the G7 backdrop staged in France. He too stood behind his dear leader donald throughout an hour and ten minute rambling incoherent disrespectful dishonest utterly embarrassing outpouring of a dementia rattled mind that is only capable of barfing out trigger word catch phrases, one after the other with zero dove tailing "doing the weave."
There may have been greater losses by other US Presidents in failed foreign excursions, but today & this term as a premature whole has already proved to be the most globally embarrassing presidency for all of our history, forever and evermore.

This dithering demented rapist deserves the full force of our public shame & rejection & accountability for the war crimes committed in our name.
