I've taken ages to respond, but here are our beautiful new chooks, Sienna & Scarlet, for you to enjoy. It's been intense, as the existing chook, Ruby, previously the sweetest-natured, loveliest bird alive, becomes a single-mindedly murderous, screeching monster at the mere sight of them. ☺️Patience
This would be hilarious were it not so tragic in its apparently total lack of insight, whether by deceit or a genuine lack of ability to reflect honestly on the behaviour of oneself or one's own country. Throughout its entire history the USA has spent only 16 years NOT at war with someone. #Auspol
That image has been around for at least 8 years, when there certainly were US bases there. Here's another one along the same lines. I don't know the date of this one. Can you imagine the USA tolerating another country surrounding them like this?
"Iran must de-escalate" reminded me of this gem (creator unknown). Nobody 'wins' a war - everyone loses - so it's best to not start them. We all know who started this one, and it wasn't Iran, though we've heard for 35+ years that they were "just about to". Now - about Israel invading Lebanon #Auspol

Lowitja O'Donaghue She was strong, wise, kind and a powerhouse of energy, particularly in support of Indigenous people. She suffered no fools gladly but was always graceful & fair in setting them straight. She is sorely missed.

and yet - this was Bondi Beach, September 2025. Quite a few people not only "felt", but were also told, that they were "unwanted" there. Did PH comment on that?
I was proud of the Invasion Day rally crowd in Perth today, who refused to be cowed by the threat of danger, remained calm & peaceful &, after initial confusion about what was required, obeyed Police orders & continued the rally, albeit not quite as planned. The Police were great too, btw #Auspol

Exactly. It's important now to argue strongly for equivalence. Either anti-hate and anti-discrimination measures should apply for all or they should apply for none. Privileging one group is racist by definition. I find this table a useful illustration of that. Needs more columns for other targets.
i love my chooks, I really do, not just because they convert kitchen scraps into eggs, but because they are lovely little beings (Rhode Island RedX). However, witness to what I am reduced. Herbs (or anything edible, even rhubarb) can only be grown in hanging baskets or wired up. I will prevail.
Canada's response was eerily similar - ditto much of the EU. They've obviously discussed this overnight.
This is the Central Memorial in Berlin (Neue Wache) to all Victims of War and Tyranny. A woman sits alone in a cold grey room cradling the dead body of her son. This beautiful, heartbreaking monument transcends race, creed and politics. Would that we could all do that. Peace and Love to all.
