I've now started on a new jumper to use up some TradeMe polyester that is hideous to work with, and some mohair bits and bobs (although the yellow is alpaca but I can spare a few grams). Doing a big knit-to-destash atm for bulk yarn I got and making small dents.
Finished my first ever colourwork jumper - size 0-6 months. Tension looks pretty good pre-blocking but remembered as I was weaving in the ends that the grey is superwash 😫🫣
Our banana palm cost us about $30~ We've already had about 20kg of bananas and there's another whole stalk on there now. Easily made our $30 back and some (and no carbon miles in these ones either).
I love our social club so much - we had such a fantastic session (Merata Mita is SO GOOD) and great discussion after 🔥 💚
I end up reading a lot of Western Australia legislation and planning documents for work, and stumbled across this today. Why yes, it is from 2006.
Trains. Literally if I could go back a hundred years I could get a train to Taumarunui, Paeroa, New Plymouth...
Join us to reflect on 45 years since the Springbok apartheid tour was halted in Kirikiriroa-Hamilton. Open to Green Party members and friends. Free to attend. RSVP here: www.greens.org.nz/khm_se_260717
Something something, Green Party candidate, something something cooking with gas...
Gluten free hotpot for lunch because mum's never had hotpot before, doubling as checking our emergency gas cooker still works (childhood relic) 🍲🥬🍄🟫
Been a very hard couple of weeks and had a period of bed rest in there too (don't have a chronic illness, team) - but kept the hands busy with a few stash busters 🧦 ✨
This could be you! 💚😎 Come learn about our campaign and all the different ways you can be involved!
A rare offer: if anyone wants to make some serious bells in ACNH today lmk and I can open my island 🤑
And it has! So happy with how it turned out. Took forever and a day but excited to now post it off to it's recipient 🍅
And now the magic of blocking will solve all my tension problems... 🫣 🧶
And then I also generated a QR code for our petition and chucked that up on an A2 sheet so people could scan it super easily and it worked wonders until I got some tape stuck on one and it ripped the words off it - but that's why you print three so you can fuck up one and still have two to go! 💚
And it's not an event without at least one photo of me doing goblin hands or with my eyes shut! Tick both of those off the bingo card tonight.
I love you Hamilton, because you show UP! Standing room only at Good George Rototuna - and a surprise guest. Thank you to everyone who came!
Please stop asking for a craft night 🤣 We're doing a craft night! 🤣 RSVP here: www.greens.org.nz/hmw_se_260615
Come kōrero about the state of the planet 💚🤙 Thursday, 6pm, Good Neighbour Rototuna. RSVP here: www.greens.org.nz/pints_politi...
I know I've been battling fatigue when it takes me three weeks to knit a hat - but this one does also involve duplicate stitch, which I haven't done before. For my father in law, who runs a Heritage Food Crops Research Trust (and grows a lot of orange and yellow tomatoes) 🍅
Feeling a bit down about the world? Go hear some of our rangatahi speak because they aren't mucking around. So much love for the students who are telling this govt exactly how they feel 💚✊
My choices from home are: Continental rich brown gravy that has a best before from 2024 Or St Hubert poutine sauce which has a best before from 2025 🤔🤔
I love having disposable income again and making very serious investment decisions 🐓🐧🦆🦚
One of my favourite traditions for our pub quizzes is having a silly prize for last place. One year it was a 10kg pumpkin. This time it's 700ml of plum jam. Often people want the last place prize more than the bar tab for first place!
[pls read the whole post before replying] Anyone else with a disability who uses a posture support (maybe EDS friends?) have a recommendation for something discrete and with smooth lines? I use a Posture Medic and it's bright green and bulky and honestly hideous.
Then just added in a bunch of cute little details like: ✨ Ticket booth 🚲 Bike hire (which you can actually do at the gardens!) 🍕 Gourmet in the gardens food stalls 🍦 And the hidden ice cream parlour (the Hamilton Gardens sells the most rolled ice cream in the country!)
I didn't know if I could do the surrealist garden but I think it works pretty well! 😎
