I enjoy cocktails, French fries, and science fiction. Queer. 🏳️🌈 He/him. Trekkie. 🖖🏻 Former KCRW & KCSN radio host & music programmer, Angeleno from New Orleans. Growing luminous by eating light. Retired.
Well, to be fair, I said that going in to the musical episode while expecting to hate it, and I loved it. Guess we’ll see!
I get that sometimes what we see as “bad” dog behavior is normal dog behavior, especially for bitey breeds like this. But the owner has to take responsibility and do what needs to be done. This one isn’t.
Greetings from the emergency department at 1:46am, where I’m getting rabies shots. Owner of the dog that bit me has completely ghosted me, isn’t returning calls or texts, nor providing vaccine documentation, and I’m not taking one single nonzero chance.
Movie Night! 4K Blu-ray in Atmos. We saw the film first run, I read the book recently, time to see the film again.
*After an unspeakably long delay … this thing changes words after I proofread them! 🤬 We decided to add “Blood Oath” but we’re saving “The Maquis” two-parter for next time.
Have an unspeakably long delay, tonight we dive back into our Star Trek: Deep Space Nine rewatch. Tonight’s episodes: “Playing God” and “Profit and Loss.”
Gaah, I’m still behind on posting food and drink from #STLV! I’ll catch up soon. Meanwhile, we have trekked all the way to Mission Hills to FINALLY check out what is apparently the only Lao restaurant in the greater Los Angeles area. Let’s goooooo!
In 2007 Bill O'Reilly "couldn't get over" the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia's Restaurant in Harlem and any other restaurant in NYC "even though it's run by blacks." "There wasn't one person in Sylvia's who was screaming, 'Motherfucker, I want more iced tea!'"
Actually, the David Cassidy post wasn’t quite correct. Before Star Trek, I watched Lost in Space. I had a 4-year-old’s version of a crush on then-12-year-old Bill Mumy as Will Robinson.
As for favorite… hard to say. I was always a voracious reader since I was two. Here’s my “Bookaneer” certificate from the New Orleans Public Library for having read twelve library books in the summer of 1966, when I was four.
Well, look what you did. 😝🖖🏻 My stars, those upper arms and shoulders… ⚪️⚪️😵💫
#STLV 2026 Recovery: The Unpacking This was one of my top two goals of the con this year; the other was our photo with George Takei. USS Excelsior NCC-2000 teacup, unbroken despite Klingon moon explosion, Pfaltzgraff, 1993. Signed 2026. 🥰🖖🏻
Home again, home again, jiggity-jig. (Gooood evening, J.F.!) 82° in Northeast Los Angeles, a crisp autumn day compared to Las Vegas!
