Before walking the dogs tonight, I caught my first deep breath of the day by taking in this glory at the end of the driveway

Tree branches in shadow fill the top, as a large cloud extends to the apricot horizon towards West Auckland. The cloud goes from grey lit with light, to deep ripples of dark grey, orange, purple, pink, it extends away. Lights of Hobsonville shine in the distance. A power pole extends upwards centre left, a street lamp alight lower centre right.

Last night my birth mum’s friend messaged, sad that she had to be the one to tell me, my birth mother died. My 24 yr old half sister called her to say her Mum had died. Our Mum. My Mum. I’m in shock. Devastated. Untethered. SAD. Unexpected. She’s only 16 yrs older than me. Love you Sharon ❤️💔
