Dead Snow (2009) 6/10 ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️💀💀💀💀 There's only 1 thing worse than a zombie... a Nazi Zombie. Like a Leprechaun, they want their gold and will kill anyone who gets in their way. The plot is silly and the characters are generic, but there is plenty of gory fun. This movie knows exactly what it is.

Cemetery Man (1994) 7/10 🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦🪦💀💀💀 Beautifully shot with great practical effects. Rupert Everett is excellent as the protagonist. He is a jaded and broken husk of a person. The cemetery setting is iconic. The plot starts strong, but meanders after a while. The end result is surreal and strange.

House (1977) 8/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀 Unique and bizarre, but always entertaining. It's style over substance, but this film has such an in-your-face style. Packed with insane visuals. Beautiful and vibrant, like a haunted house on acid. Everyone should see it at least once, there's nothing else like it!

Forbidden Fruits (2026) 6/10 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎💀💀💀💀 A messy combo of Mean Girls and The Craft. Lots of interesting ideas struggling to come together as one story. Lili Reinhart gives a standout performance. The characters were well written. Hit my irrational fingernail and escalator phobias really hard 😭

Be My Cat: A Film For Anne (2015) 6/10 😻😻😻😻😻😻💀💀💀💀 A bizzare film with a unique concept. So many meta layers that it's easy to lose track, it basically feels real and thus very unsettling. This realism comes with a lack of polish. Like life, it can be repetitive and have downtime. Still enjoyable!

Exit 8 (2025) 8/10 ⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️💀💀 A videogame adaptation that manages to replicate not just the look, but also the gameplay experience. Like the lead, you desperately scan the environment looking for any anomalies. It adds a surprisingly strong narrative to the gameplay loop. Scary and suspenseful!

Freaked (1993) 7/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀💀 Madcap comedy and incredible creature makeup. All the freaks look amazing, both conceptually creative and technically stunning. Fast paced and 4th wall breaking. Not my style of humor, but it was never cringe or dull. Though not a Troma film, it would fit right in!

Faces of Death (2026) 6/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀💀💀 A clever meta-commentary on the legacy of the original film. Like the director's other film Cam, it focuses on our obsession with internet fame. The cat and mouse game between Margot and Arthur is thrilling. Not every scene works, but the story is fun.

The Lost Boys (1987) 7/10 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸💀💀💀 David and the rest of the Lost Boys are vampire royalty. Kiefer Sutherland is so cool and scary. The movie suffers when they're not on screen, the main characters are less interesting. Captures the California setting well. Like Fright Night meets Goonies.

Undertone (2025) 6/10 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊💀💀💀💀 A testament to how clever sound design and direction can create suspense. I was often scared by what I thought I heard or saw when there may have been nothing. Basically 1 actress in 1 location. The story was familiar but I appreciate the way it was told.

The Long Walk (2025) 8/10 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️💀💀 A great story about comradery in the face of oppression. The bonds formed between these strangers knowing that all but one of them will die is inspiring. Great performances. Like the walk itself, the ending is predictable, but the journey gives it meaning.

Tokyo Gore Police (2008) 8/10 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸💀💀 Absolute insanity! Like a biopunk robocop with an anime aesthetic. The hyper-stylized violence and the creative effects are the stars. This is an unrestrained vision of a dystopic Japan soaked in blood. Not perfect, not for everyone, but a damn good time!

I Spit On Your Grave (1978) 7/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀💀 Shocking and raw. Like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it's shot in an almost documentary style that gives it a horrifying realism. Camille Keaton is so likeable Jennifer. The SA scene is so hard to watch, but it makes the revenge rampage so satisfying.

Lee Cronin's The Mummy (2026) 4/10 🦂🦂🦂🦂💀💀💀💀💀💀 A crappy Exorcist remake with a vaguely Egyptian aesthetic. A derivative, risk-free horror film. The parents are idiots who make the worst possible choices. It's all gross-out scares. All the worst modern horror cliches, these movies need to die off.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026) 7/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀💀 A good continuation, picking up right where the 1st left off. The game is the same but there's enough new stuff that it doesn't feel like a retread. Elijah Wood was my favorite part. Giving Grace a sister was a smart move. A fun, bloody sequel.

Jaws (1975) 10/10 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 So scary that it's kept generations of people out of the ocean, yet people still insist it isn't horror. Iconic score, interesting charcters, great script. A scrappy team saves the day after their Government puts money over people, so very American. Happy 4th of July!

Last Night in Soho (2021) 8/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀 Great performances and stunning, surreal visuals that tell a unique story. Very ambitious. Inspired by giallo, especially the stylized visuals. The end falls flat for me, undercutting an otherwise an excellent horror film, but I still highly recommend it!

Obsession (2026) 9/10 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💀 This film only works if Nikki works, and Inde Navarrette is incredible, this whole review could be about her. The film is terrifying but also surprisingly funny and it switches between the two without losing its impact. A great modern take on a classic concept.

Cannibal! The Musical (1993) 8/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀 A Troma gem. The Donner Party but with singing. The songs are catchy and funny. Lots of great jokes and quoteable lines. Silly yet gross kills. Endearing characters. The budget is as lean as a baked potato but it's entertaining nonetheless.

They Will Kill You (2026) 7/10 🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓💀💀💀 Lots of fun! Every time you think you know where it's going, the film changes things up and keeps you guessing. Kill Bill style violence to a kickass soundtrack. Zazie Beetz is a great lead, totally comitted to the role. A bloody good time!

Backrooms (2026) 8/10 🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜💀💀 Great visuals and atmosphere. Does an excellent job of slowly introducing the concept of the backrooms before things really get weird. The characters' decisions don't always feel grounded, but as a whole it's an interesting reflection on trauma and memory.

Underworld: Blood Wars (2016) 6/10 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸💀💀💀💀 Too many ideas. Eve and Michael are both sidelined, which makes no sense given the plot. Marius and Semira are good villains who don't get enough time to develop. The Nordic Coven could have been interesting but are also underdeveloped. Some fun action

Underworld Awakening (2012) 7/10 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸💀💀💀 Humans discovering and purging lycans and vampires keeps the series fresh. Quint's super-lycan is cool and giving Selene a hybrid daughter keeps the character interesting. Charles Dance is always a win. There's a big Michael-sized hole in the film.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) 7/10 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱💀💀💀 A fine prequel taking established lore and flashbacks and stretches it out. Bill Nighy is great. It's fun seeing Viktor in his prime. A refreshing mix of horror and fantasy, a new action style. Still, feels like a story told in the first film.

Underworld: Evolution (2006) 8/10 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸💀💀 An awesome sequel that builds upon the lore of the Corvinus family. Marcus is one of the coolest vampire designs ever, seeing him fight never gets old. His relationship with his brother is fascinating. Selene continues to kick ass. Fun from start to end
