other peoples' dreams: having super powers, impossible spaces my dreams: a friend coming over to my place and insisting that I dig out the sega genesis so that we can play Toki
Framing the mass layoffs like they're something "happening" to Xbox and not something directly initiated by Xbox as a result of their conscious decision to buy a bunch of companies and then no longer want a bunch of companies is crazy.
a few years ago i got the nice PC slipcase physical release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution (original version) brand new from the square enix web store like a decade after it released. no clue how they still had unsold copies lmao
obsessed with the controller for this aliexpress robot dog. the completely solid body mold that was clearly made from an xbox one controller complete with non-functioning shoulder/trigger buttons and face buttons like "Act Cute" and "Urinate" is truly a thing of beauty
buying halo 1 in japan back in the day got you both the manual and a "training guide" which is basically a mini guidebook by Prima Games for the first mission
the hell do you mean the base game doesn't come with the digital game manual lmao
even more underwhelming bonus trivia for the GH2 key art: whatever the hell happened here lol. i think the dark spots are shadows but the compositing on the pickups and the grey spot below the neck are... interesting. Surprised Gibson quality control wasn't stricter tbh.
bonus underwhelming trivia: hands posed for guitar picks but lacking said guitar picks 😎
Making her left-handed is fine for the better posing, it's just funny that the guitar isn't a left handed model. Guitar Hero 2's key arts made her left handed but did make the guitar a left handed model. anyways, hope you enjoyed today's underwhelming bit of trivia
just noticed that on the guitar hero 3 key/box art, the character Judy is playing a right-handed guitar as if she were left handed, even though in-game she is right handed and Gibson did produce a left-handed version of the guitar she is using lol
reminds me of the themed scrims at disney world if they were much, much sadder looking
facebook showing me a post by my relative about their sick dog and asking me if I'm "interested" or "not interested" in the post is peak social media lol💀
I really love the colors in Marathon. These two specifically always make me think of Tyco's Crash Dummies, specifically the plane lmao.
like ok toy story 4 you got a spork character and an evel knievel guy cool whatever but toy story 5 coming in hot with a potty-training device, a digital camera, and a translucent hippo GPS (that are all toy-like enough to gain toy sentience i guess)????
in a perfect world they would fund a toy story 5 video game tie-in where you play as the discarded potty-training device and they would let me develop it
of all these games, resident evil 2 is somehow the one I don't own lol
i have faith in my sources so maybe they're saving this one for the next state of play or the game awards or something
the absolute whiplash of getting facebook poked for the first time in 15 years
i know dark souls 2 came out like 12 years ago but I just noticed this and sorta feel compelled to share it anyways

The only downside to adding the lighting-only debug mode is that every time a chunk of level gets built I can't help myself from toggling it over and over lol
Bonus for the real nerds: because baking starts at the verts not the lights, verts can know if they are being shadowed by their own object and thus avoid self-shadowing. this allows objects to cast shadows without said shadows overriding their own buttery smooth half lambert squared falloff
Especially proud of the sky lighting. Previously I would have had to just manually place and tweak point lights to simulate ambient sky light bouncing around. Now the light baker simply shoots a ray from each vert, checks how many hit the skybox, and combines that with a simple hemisphere falloff.
A (somewhat simplified) look at the light baking in Compound Fracture. All entirely custom, vertex based, and completely separate from Unity's light baking.
