Hi! I’m Scott and I’m here mainly to share my maps and engage in some tabletop gaming discourse. I’m also a theatre maker so might share some of that too 😊 Theatre kid 🎭, ttrpgs 🎲, maps 🗺️, ex-evangelical 🙌, queer dad 🏳️🌈 He/Him
Effigy of Flesh - a trap I designed for Feast of Cats (my new 100 page #Dolmenwood module). I drew inspiration from some heinous illustrations of skin disease, cone shell stingers and worms to get the feel. #osr #dnd #d&d #ttrpg #illustration
Feast of Cats is almost ready - 60 pages in, 30ish to go… I think I severely underestimated how large a 5 level dungeon is. 🤷♂️ you live you learn i guess. Here’s an isometric of the ‘Well Room’ - trust me when I say, you shouldn’t remove the lid from the well. #dnd #d&d #osr #dolmenwood #ttrpg #map
Layout for my Dolmenwood module, Feast of Cats is coming together. Part 1 is the big aristocratic feast. Part 2 is the dungeon crawl. ETA end of July/early August! #osr #dolmenwood #dnd #d&d
My party came across a giant ant nest a while ago and I made this scrappy little map. Might make something more of it eventually. #dolemwood #dnd #d&d #maps #osr
I’ve enjoyed doing these little isometric renderings of dungeon rooms… #osr #dolmenwood #dnd #d&d #ttrpg #illustration
My youngest is turning 2 and he loves trains. I didn’t want to go the standard route and do a choo choo cake - so I’ve gone with a cute landscape cake that we can setup his train set in a circle around. I’m really proud of it 🚂 #cake #baking #landscape
Playing with shading today. A #Dolmenwood adventurer cracks open a Shubs Egg. Not having a laptop has paused doing layout for my module. On the plus side I’ll have lots of doodles to break up the text. #dnd #illustration
Laptop’s still busted so I’m just drawing bits for my Dolmenwood module in my spare time. Ngl illustration isn’t really my thing (much prefer maps) but I have enjoyed giving it a crack. Here’s a page featuring some worm-zombie-aristocrat things. #dnd #osr #dolmenwood
Folks, may I present a leftover rotisserie chicken attacking an aristocrat. #osr #dolmenwood #illustration
Disaster! My laptop busted a fortnight ago and im back to pen and paper (so no maps till I can get it fixed). Anyways, here’s a picture of a sick little kitty I drew for Feast of Cats 🐱 #dolmenwood #osr #d&d #illustration
I’ve been eyeing off a few of the old mm drawings as tattoos for years. Love me that terrifying old school beholder.
Feast of Cats - Map 5 😸 The roof of the fort is run down and overgrown. You should probably tread carefully. You should also, probably, blow the horn. #osr #dolmenwood #maps
A spread from Feast of Cats, I’ve playtested this bit with players a couple of times now. Second time round began with a player literally telling someone to set the whole room on fire.
WIP - the tainted aquifer under Fort Vulgar. From my upcoming dungeon Feast of Cats. #dnd #osr #dolmenwood #maps
I trialled a new encounter table for Feast of Cats last night and I think it might need some tweaking… turns out 3d6 zombies is actually a lot of zombies. Thankfully small corridors and a good stock of oil flasks meant the party survived with only a broken arm. #osr #dolmenwood #dnd
She’s graceful, she’s beautiful… she’s Cropsika the Slitherous - but her servants call her Mother Worm. #dolmenwood #osr #dnd
From my dungeon, Feast of Cats - Cellar Level. The well in the centre descends dangerously to an aquifer under the keep but (in keeping with old school design) it’s not the only entrance. #osr #dolmenwood #dnd
This is the cover design I whipped up for my upcoming Dolmenwood Dungeon: “Feast of Cats” - started as a mini dungeon for my players, it’s somehow expanded to 5 levels. #osr #dolmenwood #dnd
Here’s a Dolmenwood dungeon map. Fort Vulgar! It’s described as a maze, full of dusty corridors and rooms unused. This level hides secrets like: a shrine to the dreaming dragon, a hidden tomb and taxidermied Crookhorns. Will drop the other levels of the fort soon #dolmenwood #osr #dnd
Nice! I’ve been involved in the Mothership Over/Under game taking place on Discord this month (a massive game set on a huge spaceship). It’s been amazing - something like 1500 ppl involved. I’ve been gradually illustrating some of the game locations. These are the first two:
All a bit of an experiment really, isometric jungle - I had a 9-5 zoom meeting today so spent most of it drawing (helps me focus). Not sure if at some point an isometric map reaches a detail overload. Once I chuck it into photoshop we’ll see if it holds up.
So I never ended up submitting to the one page dungeon contest this year. I did finish the map but wasn’t fully happy with the concept… I might use it as a fairy realm for my Dolmenwood campaign. With and without clouds. #osr #dolmenwood #d&d
Option 2 for one page dungeon 2025: it’s a castle ballroom with a big split down the middle… climbing thru the rift brings you into a dark reversal of the castle. I think this has to do with dark secrets. Like the ballroom opened up and all the aristocracy’s darkest dreams are on the other side.
I’ve done a stack of one page dungeons in the past, but never anything more substantial. The goal in 2025 is to publish *something* bigger. So with that said here’s the first couple of pages of the dungeon… I’ll need to clean up and edit the text a bit but I think it’s fun 😊
Can’t believe Indiana Jones went thru so much trouble to get the Ark of the Covenant when he could’ve just ordered it from Temu’s New Year sale 🤷♂️
I’ve been working on an isometric, lava themed, dungeon map: A Rakshasa drug lord hideout on the plane of fire.
