Archivist doing archive things mostly. Easily distracted London based Scot. Current Chair of Archives and Records Association, but all views my own. She/her.
Cheers from Iona, where it is cool and drizzly but beautiful #ConfinedCocktails
Temperature now ideal for sitting in the garden with a glass of Aeolian Island wine (admittedly the sunflower photo is a set up) #ConfinedCocktails
An unexpected morning in Venice. Instead of sleeper and trains, we’re now having to go to Verona to fly home otherwise we wouldn’t be back in time for work!
We made it to Venice and there is complimentary Prosecco #ConfinedCocktails
After a bit of hanging around at Messina, we’re on the boat! Apparently this is the last boat-train in Europe if not the world, and in a decade it might no longer exist. A bridge won’t be nearly as fun.
Today we’re going from Sicily to Salerno, which means we’re getting the train that goes on a boat! Starting in Milazzo this morning, with bonus pic of the Aeolian islands from Lipari from yesterday.
The Palermo archaeology museum has turtles in their decorative pool!
You can go on the roof of Palermo Cathedral and there are views and a breeze and it didn’t give me vertigo!
Made it to Palermo, via many trains and half a day in Milan. So far, so hot.
Cheers! This is a limoncello spritz with home grown lemon in it, for added smugness. Day of usefulness in the sunshine here! #ConfinedCocktails
I have had a haircut and planted the flowers I bought on the way home from that, so quite enough productivity to justify a drink in the garden #ConfinedCocktails
Drinking fizz after a day of sorting stuff (slowly due to heat) in prep for overnight guests tomorrow. I really need the long weekend! Peonies in the garden just to show them off #ConfinedCocktails.
I had white port and cava sangria in Portugal a couple of years ago, happy if slightly fuzzy memories… French Martini in front of the dog rose after a day outside #ConfinedCocktails
First weekend at home since Easter, there has been a lot of gardening and catching up with house stuff. And now there is fizzy wine and admiring the amaryllis #ConfinedCocktails
#ConfinedCocktails is sparkling wine in front of a pile of washing up that someone else* is doing after Easter Sunday dinner. *I cooked and did some of the dishes already, so husband gets the washing up.
Culture for #confinedCocktails this evening (husband’s choir plus a local orchestra). There’s is a bar!
A busy week with uncertain news this evening but a French Martini (later than usual due to shopping necessity) after a lovely day out at Punchdrunk then lunch #ConfinedCocktails
Starting #ConfinedCocktails with a spiced mai tai (gingerbread syrup sounded nice so subbed in for orgeat).
Got to go through the park for a meeting today and met a Bernese mountain dog who was happily out greeting his fans.
Hope the cocktail and crisps combination works! It’s M&S dine in deal here this evening, so rare appearance of a second drinker for the bargain prosecco after a day of Useful Things (including holiday planning, which can only be better than our last holiday) #ConfinedCocktails
Not really #TeaUp as it’s coffee in the hospital cafe, but there’s also peppermint slice to cheer me up.
I saw this card the other day and it seems appropriate for so many occasions.
It has been quite the week and I’m pottering round cooking dinner while drinking the fizzy wine I didn’t get to drink on my birthday. It could all be a lot worse #ConfinedCocktails
