“Highly recommended. Beautiful. Feels like every corner has been lovingly created" Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2 “Unhurried hybrid of spiritual jazz, folk, soul and chamber pop” Mojo ★★★★ “Scrimshire delivers a superior example of the style thanks to his musicality and inventive imagination” Jazzwise
I love Baby Rose and Yearnalism has done nothing to change that. Her collab with Badbadnotgood was one of my records of the year and this will probably be the same.
Really grateful to @thetonearm.com for taking the time to have a chat with me about my new album, life and record labels. I was sat in the woods being pecked by hens at the time… www.thetonearm.com/scrimshire-l...
Listened to this on Weds, I forgot how I used to rinse this album when it came out. Every note, solo, beat is deeply ingrained in me. Released 32 years ago, March 1994!? I was 15 and just starting to make songs. One of a handful of albums on repeat that summer. 1995 was so amazing for music.
Made it to the finish/starting line. This is my 9th album, Bring Our Light To Every Corner It features some absolutely incredible people on it, but mostly it’s the best album I could make and probably have made yet. Proud and tired (can you see in my eyes I’ve been up since 3:45 fretting?)
Tonight, 8pm bst, from my living room to your ears. Really hope you can come and share in this album playback. Q&A afterwards for those that like questions. www.youtube.com/live/asAF0ot...
I’m sorry, feels so braggy, but I got reviewed in Mojo for the 1st time. Early 90s I started playing with my Amiga 500 and OctaMED. I was obsessed with music mags and news. Bought them all with my wages from the local shop. 15 year old me would be mind blown I got here. Even if it took a while.
You, me, him, Thursday 8pm. My YouTube channel. Full and first listen anywhere to my new album. Would love to share it with you
Tonight. 8pm BST. Live from this room. Production walkthrough with a brand new track from the album. A very special version in fact. Would love to have you there. The song features performances from Jessica Lauren, Idris Rahman and a very special secret guest. youtube.com/live/lmmy6J8...
I’m doing a live production walkthrough/Q&A and playing an exclusive of a new track. Wednesday evening. 8pm. RSVP for invite. tally.so/r/lbMJlV
Awake, A Dream Devil’s Dyke, UK This was such a beautiful place to sit and practice.
Explorations are back. Haven’t done them in too long. An exploration asks no questions. It isn’t *for* anything. It’s just allowing myself time to do my favourite thing. The thing that feels like it did when I first started messing around with an Amiga 500+ in 1992. It’s just play.
The last of the bluebells out in the woods this morning. Still practicing every day, still trying to get this one down without errors, but accepting sometimes the little mistakes form the possibility of good ideas. The wind and the trees get 10/10 for participation today.
This song “Awake, A Dream” came out this week. I’ve been practicing it a lot lately. Here was a sunrise moment in Scotland a few weeks back. A little stiff due to VERY cold fingers. Would love you to hear the whole song, it’s a long one but peaceful… AlbertsFavourites.lnk.to/zOwuQK5WPR
Come and join me on this sofa tonight (virtually at least)? A new piece of music. 14 minutes and 55 seconds I would really love to listen to together. Come and be the first to listen to a slice of my new album. 8pm. Bring snacks and something decent to listen on. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSsZ...
After 30 years of playing guitar this shouldn’t make me proud… But I’ve managed a month of practicing daily. It’s never been my strong point. But I feel like I’m breaking through a bit. Even through my holiday in Scotland over Easter. And as you’d hope, things are getting better.
I’m lost. Please help me. I’m trying to feel safe enough to just admit “I’m lost”. Then enjoy the moment of saying “please help me”. I’ve spent weeks working up to this. But I’m starting see “lostness” as a useful place. open.substack.com/pub/adamscri...
Keeping up daily practice on a borrowed guitar on Arran. Bit chilly out there but couldn’t resist this sunrise play.
Please come and join me in my living room (via YouTube) on 22nd April at 8pm for 14 minutes and 54 seconds (a little more if you’d like to chat afterwards) of new music, shared together. Awake, A Dream - 8pm 22/04/26 www.youtube.com/live/tSsZ0LN...
Your Invasion Is A Lie (2026) feat. Idris Rahman I rereleased this track this week. I made the album it came from Pay-what-you-want including the vinyl but 90% of anything you choose to pay goes to charities: refugee council, MAP, Earth Percent. In 2023 the title and song was about the UK press
If anyone fancies a first listen to the incredible new Arjuna Oakes album, we’re streaming it in full on Bandcamp at 7pm (bst) tonight… arjunaoakes.bandcamp.com/merch/while-...
On international jazz day can I recommend this beautiful new record to you? Deeply special debut from Mark Millington AlbertsFavourites.lnk.to/JyPKYLFA
This live session by Mörk is perfect for a sunny Saturday morning. Honestly one of the most amazing songs I’ve had the pleasure of releasing on @albertsfavourites.bsky.social Go and listen to Only Mine now. Unique live version is on their YouTube and you need to hear the album Still Dreamin’
I really appreciate all the messages of love and support for this new one. More radio play than I would have expected for such a slow burner. I really do love seeing songs shared. Never gets old for me. A genuine little buzz every time. All @bandcamp.com proceeds to @earthpercent.bsky.social
Morning. This one is one of my albums of the year. Emanative continues his own road in the uk jazz scene. Playing with my favourite artists, innovators and inspirers of 20+ years. Possibly my favourite Emanative to date. Beautiful, looping explorations, ambient, emotional, hypnotic. #vinylsky
Morning! Finally picked up a copy. I wanted to be Galliano when I was really finding my stride with making music. The combination of rhythm, poetry, soul, jazz, something quintessentially British, inspired me so much. I’m so happy this album exists and we have them back! #nowplaying #vinylsky
