Last year, there was over a million young people aged between 11 and 17 who tried vaping. I welcome the launch of a UK-wide consultation on tougher rules around packaging, flavour names, displays and product design. www.gov.uk/government/c...
On Saturday, I popped along to the Enstone Primary School Summer Fete. A great community spirit, and some fun activities to try out.
I spoke in the chamber today on why getting Local Government Reorganisation right matters. The right structure will drive economic growth, bring new development to our area, and unlock better opportunities for residents and the next generation.
On Friday, I visited Swalcliffe Park school - a specialist residential and day school for autistic boys aged 10-19. It was great to hold a Q&A with students, where they asked some thoughtful questions!
As part of my speech in the Chamber this week, I spoke on the Employment Rights Act. Labour's Employment Rights Act is such an important step forward - helping to end exploitative practices, strengthen workplace protections and put more power back into the hands of employees,.

Illegal dumping blights our communities, harms our environment and costs everyone money. These reforms send a clear message: if you want to handle waste in Banbury and North Oxfordshire, you have to prove you can do it properly.

Nigel Farage has serious questions to answer, and I certainly wouldn't describe him as an 'honest politician'.
July marks Disability Pride Month - a celebration of the creativity, resilience, and achievements of disabled people. I remain committed to standing up for Disabled people in Banbury and North Oxfordshire, and advocating for change where I can.
The NHS is our proudest national achievement. I'm proud that we're helping turn the page on the worst crisis in its history and building an NHS that's fit for the future. Thanks to this Labour government's investment, it will be there for generations to come. Happy Birthday, NHS. 💙
Great to be out in Chipping Norton yesterday morning with the local team. Many residents pleased to see us knocking all year round.

Workers using their own vehicle for work are now better off! For a decade and a half the previous government refused to update HMRC mileage rates, meaning decent working people whether they were employed in jobs like home care or the self employed like plumbers were paying to work.
Excellent news. All pubs can now stay open for the England game this weekend.
Got a question, concern or idea? I'm in Charlbury today and still have a few appointment slots available. Contact my office to book. #Charlbury #ConstituencySurgery

I am proud that the Labour Government has announced a landmark £15 billion investment in defence spending. Labour’s Defence Investment Plan will be backed by £298 billion of investment across the next four years, including £15bn of additional spending on top of last year’s Spending Review.
New safe and legal routes for refugees to come to the UK will begin to rollout in the autumn, giving genuine refugees a pathway to rebuild their lives. Numbers will start small and build over time, ensuring the routes remain controlled and sustainable.
