Bumped into a lovely 🇮🇪 couple in the BC backcountry. Both huge fans of @kneecapceol.bsky.social. Thank you @smohyeddin.bsky.social for continuing to report on Kneecap’s ongoing legal actions.
👏 Lib. MP Salma Zahid: "Today, as Chair of the Canada-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group, along with our vice-chairs, we sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs urging Canada to ban the import of products from illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian Territories."
We will know more details about this tragedy in the coming days (toxicology report). I sincerely hope it prompts an open & honest discussion about impaired driving in Saskatchewan (a long standing issue) and renews our commitment to addressing this behaviour. #roughriders
“I cannot think of another country that stands so firmly on the wrong side of international law, yet continues to enjoy normal relationships with Canada.” — Professor Michael Lynk, Western University.
By 1986, it became unacceptable to carry on normal relations with apartheid South Africa's ambassador to Canada.
The Esso station outside Hope is something to behold: 8 BC Hydro chargers, ~15 Tesla chargers, and 10 gas pumps.
❤️ BC Hydro’s growing network of 900+ fast EV chargers. Just drove Victoria to Prince George return in our Bolt. No issues. The Hummer (pictured below) was consuming 310 Kw vs 53 Kw max for our car.
IMO this doesn't absolve @naheednenshi.bsky.social. He agreed to pose for a photo that he should have known would be used for shameless pro-Israel propaganda 👇
Politicians who are genuinely committed to universal human rights don’t pose for all smiles photos with representatives of countries carrying out crimes against humanity. Shame @naheednenshi.bsky.social.

It's been one week and not one legacy media outlet has published a story or column on this 🤷
CBC News aired a story about the Nakba exhibit that included this inaccurate claim: “The Jewish community is upset" by the exhibit. This has been corrected & CBC acknowledged the "importance of bringing differing voices from within the [Jewish] community into our coverage going forward"👍
40 Twitter posts in June targeting the new Nakba exhibit. As @smohyeddin.bsky.social notes this is a manufactured controversy.
Canada needs to impose economic and diplomatic sanctions on Israel. Enough.
Two weeks ago, minister @marcmillermp.bsky.social stated in the HoC “it is not the place of the minister … to dictate museum policy and what is curated and what is not.” Today, he abandoned his principles and called for changes to the @CMHR_News Nakba exhibit. Unbelievable.
Honest Reporting Canada now fighting the Canada Revenue Agency over its decision to revoke the charity status of its bogus parent organization. This has been a long time coming. Huge thanks to Bethany Lindsay, Abigail Turner, @smohyeddin.bsky.social, David Masterraci & others for pursuing this.
Here is @cbcnews.ca leading viewers to question the legitimacy of the Nakba exhibit. “This exhibit will open as is, exploring a divisive topic, at a divisive time.” Honestly!
Another wake-up call to senior leadership @cbcnews.ca. Deflecting fair criticism by 'both sidesing' signals they may not fully understand the existential threat facing CBC News. From CBC Management's response to the CBC Ombud. site-cbc.radio-canada.ca/documents/om...
These reflections from Maxime Bertrand, CBC Ombud: "The public, it would appear, has lost faith. The question they're asking now is not how public media can be made more accountable, but why it even exists." Bertrand's statement is worth reading👇 site-cbc.radio-canada.ca/documents/om...
Thank you to the CBC Radio Vancouver team for keeping me company in the backcountry this week.
Important product information added to this Regina Safeway produce sign.
Sadly, I'm not confident @theglobeandmail.com would ever publish this op-ed, with this headline. Written by former Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert.
Sheila Copps, Minister of Heritage, voiced her support for depoliticizing the exhibit and the independence of the museum. 👏 /3
In the wake of 9/11 & under pressure from the pro-Israel lobby, the museum announced it was postponing the exhibit of 26 artists until March '02. In QP, NDP leader Alexa McDonough pressed PM Chretien, who replied: "If it is good for March 2002, it is good for October 2001" 👍/2
