(German below) SUPER URGENT! We are looking for a captain to join our next rotation, planned from 17th August to 25th September! If we do not find someone, we have to cancel the rotation. Get in touch via crewing@seapunks.de
After a two days transit, all nine survivors disembarked safely in Vibo Valencia. We are glad that we found them in time and thank them for their trust. We wish them all the best and safety for their future. No one is free until everyone is free.
The crew embarked all survivors on Sea Punk 1 and kept patrolling until MRCC Rome assigned Vibo Valencia as Port of Safety - which is a two days transit away! On board everyone got a medical check up, food, a shower, and some much needed rest. The survivors told that they were at sea for two days.
Part of our crew was woken up around 5.00 a.m. by crew members on lookout duty. By the time everyone was on deck, they could already see the rubber boat in distress. The bridge informed the respective authorities and our RHIB crew assessed the boat with our RHIB Molly.
Sea Punk I rescues nine people out of an unseaworthy rubber boat in distress at sea! A small rubber boat, losing air on one side, with 9 people on board drifting - seven of them unaccompanied minors. This is the situation our crew encountered yesterday. Everything happened very quickly.
We will never get used to these ghost boats, sad witnesses of Europe’s racist border regime. People try to cross the Mediterranean on un-seaworthy boats like this one in the picture here, everyday. When our crew found this empty boat - they had already spent 40 hours of searching.
(German below) Sea Punk I is operational again! After intensive weeks of training, our crew has left port in Augusta and is patroulling the area of operation for people in distress at sea. We do so because we fight for freedom of movement and equal human rights no matter where you are from.
the dissolution of states. The consequences are profound: they have no access to education, healthcare, formal employment or property rights, they have no right to vote and no right to travel. Key steps that governments can take include eliminating discrimination
It is estimated that 4.4 million people are officially stateless, but the true figure is likely to be much higher. People become stateless through circumstances beyond their control, such as discrimination in nationality laws, gaps in birth registration, forced displacement and
We are hiring! If you want to join our team and become our next Ship-Shore Coordinator, feel free to check the full job description on our website and send your application to jobs@seapunks.de by the 8th of July. Love & Rage!
(German below) FIRST AID TRAINING. Before every rotation, our crew completes intensive first aid training. In the Central Mediterranean, there is no immediate access to medical care. People fleeing war, persecution, or violence often reach us exhausted, hypothermic, or injured.
MASS CASUALTY INCIDENT Training.
and logistical coordination to maximize the chances of survival for everyone involved by prioritizing life-saving measures. Your donation helps us execute these rotations. No sea rescue without you! Rescuing people at sea costs money – not doing it costs lives. Support us now.
(German below) MASS CASUALTY INCIDENT + Patient Handling Training. Our crews undergo intensive training days before every rotation. During these days, they prepare to respond to a maritime emergency involving a large number of people and injuries. It requires absolute teamwork, structured command,
WE ARE MANY: AND WE STAND FOR A HUMANE EUROPE IN SOLIDARITY WITH PEOPLE ON THE MOVE. While last week rightwing MEPs chanted 'send them back' in the EU Parliament after controversial deportation plans were passed, our crew was busy.

No rotation ever happens without the incredible amount of help, time and energy spend and brought in by so many punky people. GRAZIE MILLE to all of you, you know who you are! Today our Love goes out to you - and we keep the rage for the fights to come. Credits: henri_stork
For today we like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all those volunteering helping hands and crew members who supported us in the past months in the dry dock and shipyard in Licata.
GREAT NEWS! After months of drydock and shipyard our Sea Punk I passed all her inspections and is ready to set sail again soon. Preparations for our next rotation are in line already - stay tuned.
This means that they are focusing on fewer studies and ignoring work that could support kinder, rights-based alternatives.
The EU is creating a border complex where research is driven by security concerns and the need to develop tools for repression. The report, "Border Labs", by Stop Wapenhandel and the Transnational Institute, shows how universities are being drawn further into military and security research.
Studies show that they face an increased risk of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts. A Mother’s Day that ignores this brutal reality misses the point. True solidarity means fighting for the rights of ALL mothers.
What does it mean to be a mother on the move? To fight not only for your own life but also for that of your children? When we draw attention to mothers’ rights, needs, work and care work on Mother’s Day, we must not forget mothers who have become refugees above all.
Heute ist der sogenannte “Tag der Befreiung”. Wir wollen an diesem Tag zurückzuschauen und den Opfern des Nationalsozialismus gedenken. Aber wir wollen auch auf die Gegenwart schauen:
SHE'S AFLOAT AGAIN! Sea Punk I meanwhile has been launched from dry drock in Licata and has finally water under her keel again. This also means that we are almost done with all necessary repairs to retain certificates and have her operative soon again, back in the Mediterranean. Stay tuned!
CHIEF OFFICER WANTED! For our next planned rotation in June we are urgently looking for a person filling in the position of first mate. Requirements and tasks in Slide 2 and in more detail on our Crewing Website. If you suit the position we are happy to hear from you via crewing@seapunks.de
This means building solidarity with temporary workers, pseudo self-employed, undocumented people, and all those pushed into oppressed sectors of labor. We will not be divided! So we take to the streets today — for solidarity between all workers.
