and i'm saying this as someone who was forced to install ubuntu on my mom's celeron laptop as a lil kid because windows vista was too slow. i didn't know a thing about linux nor programming at the time lol
looks like nixos-anywhere fails on hetzner cx23 now but is fine on VMs with more RAM. thought i was going crazy. pretty sure this used to work before?
one cool (and lazy) thing i added to my blog last year is a rudimentary codeblock diff & fold using the details summary. personally i find it helpful to read and write cause i can communicate changes in one go
i got my own crappy data pipeline now. i still have to fix so many things but omg it's coming together
redoing @remotehiro.com's layout a bit and was wondering is it better to: 1. show the salary ranges and the original currency only 2. show the converted salary ranges based on the user's preferred currencies in the salary column 3. a mix of 1 & 2 by showing them in different columns

i found out a few days ago that a nix derivation can have multiple sources 🤯 but i haven't found a nice way of naming the local source so that i don't have to resort to `find`
i had to make a quick & dirty python script to create an anki practice deck for spanish verbs, and i still think python's tooling is subpar. even uv required some mental gymnastics to package scripts so i ditched it nix fixes this as usual
apparently @ca.remotehiro.com (an account for Canadian residents to follow for relevant job posts) got instantly terminated without prior warning. it barely posted. it never interacted with users besides the main account. i never posed as the company that's hiring either.
