Final day of looking after the neighbour's guinea pigs was a success. Piggies have fresh food breakfast and plenty of dry food and water until their owners get home later. They make the most adorable vibrating purr sound when the fresh food appears 😍

I decided that it's time to start Mass Effect as my next game. So I started today. And then restarted after realising I'd totally missed all the character customisation things 😅 It's taking a minute to get used to the combat, but the story so far is engaging and I like the characters.

It's happening! You all told me I needed to play Crisis Core before I go onto FFVII Rebirth so I'm back in Midgard. Love the parallels to the FFVII opening. As soon as the city and the music appeared, I was right there feeling the joy. I saw Wutai! And tiny Yuffie! Zack is adorable! This is great.

Annie-cat has lymphoma in addition to kidney failure. Despite everything we've done, she's fading. I'm never going to be ready to say goodbye, but a few days ago I made the decision. She'll be going to sleep tomorrow. We've had some good last days after 17 wonderful years. I won't forget her.

I have not put this on here yet because of the timing but a few days ago the vet gave me the news I'd been half expecting for a while. Annie-cat's kidneys are failing and she only has a few months left, probably not many. My baby is finally in her little old lady era.

New game started! I've been itching to play Metaphor ReFantazio and so far it has not disappointed. Made it through the first dungeon and we're off to assassinate an evil prince. I've died in battle once (in a boss fight) and also by not running fast enough from a rock fall 😅 Yay generous autosave

A friend is having a baby so I dusted off the knitting needles because babies need tiny hats. And it's autumn so they're a blueberry and a pumpkin.

Today I walked a lot of plane stiffness out and I got to go out to one of my favourite spots in the province. Perfect weather for it - tomorrow it's forecast to be really wet and you do not want to walk on rocks by the ocean in that weather.

My dad went up into my life space today and reports that everything up there is drying out really well from the roof leak so that's good. When I get back from Canada, I'll need to get quotes on fixing the big water damage mark on the ceiling below. This is complicated by the presence of 60s artex.

I think I must have joined AO3 the day after public beta opened, maybe only a few minutes before naye! Like many, I suspect I had friends working on it so I got an invite as early as possible but I can't remember who now. Invites were flying around on grapevines those early weeks.

Also picked up Horizon Zero Dawn today for the first time since February (I got distracted by shiny new games) and immediately walked into two Snapmaws, but somehow didn't die. Or panic. Am I actually getting better at combat in gaming? Anyway, this game is so pretty 😍

Poor Annie, totally confused this morning that I was up and doing morning breakfast things but her breakfast hadn't triggered yet because it was way too early. Usually her feeder has given her breakfast before I get up.
