Teaching Ernst Kapp’s 1877 book Outlines of a Philosophy of Technology this semester as part of a seminar on the intersection of philosophy of art and technology. More specifically the chapter on the golden ratio. And it’s reminding me how wonderfully WEIRD 19th century philosophy can appear today.
