Well, it's time to get back to stitching! I finally have the fabric and I've been getting busy because there's only a limited time until Halloween. Here's the third run at my Sailor Moon skirt. I'm a bigger girl so in order to get the pleats, I need a bigger ring. Next step is the pleating though!

Two large semi-circles arranged in an Eye of Saur-ena setup. It is blue fabric that appears to form an eye shape on a wooden desk.

In this picture the ends of the two blue fabric semicircles are pinned together. There is a sewing machine in the upper center of the picture, awaiting to do its task. Both are sitting on a wooden desktop.

Here we have a skirt whose ends are joined up. The entire skirt is on the floor because, well, it wouldn't fit on the desktop. It's made of blue fabric. Underneath is cream-colored carpet along with the corner of a treadmill at the upper left.

Serena is taking a selfie in the middle of the blue fabric ring. It is very clear that this fabric ring is incredibly large. The point here is that when Serena does the pleats on the fabric ring, that fabric ring will shrink by at least half if not more... depending on how well Serena pleats the blue fabric ring to make it into a skirt.

Working on hand-sewing the Halloween costume, part the umpteenth: I have to redo parts of my Sailor Moon costume including the back bow and skirt. I finished the “easy” part, the new improved larger bow. It has more natural tails that move as well. Still to do: get material for new pleated skirt.

Here’s a good four to six hours on my Sailor Moon skirt- Step 1 the cut, of four pieces. Step 2 the stitching together into a circle. Step 3 was folding and pinning the pleats… And step 4 was to put a _ton_ more pins in to move the skirt and hold it together for a baste stitch on the machine.

A round piece of fabric that has been stitched together and preliminarily pinned with pleats.

Repinning the pleats to make sure they flow nicely and to try to keep a round waistband.

A _ton_ more pins so that this behemoth skirt can be moved to the sewing machine.

I'm really happy that I just get to look like this. Last year, I did not fit this dress anywhere near as well as I do this year. It took more than a bit of time (and money, and recovery) to get here, but I really feel happy that I could do this for myself.

The cat distribution system dropped this thing in our yard just before Halloween. We’ve figured that between his coloration and fur pattern he’s at least primarily Maine Coon, but very much mixed breed trash cat. So, one never knows?

That feeling when you see the silicone implants at the surgeon’s office so you have to pick one up and squeeze it… Then the secondary feeling realizing that based on the biggest one, the ones I have installed in my boobs are 140% larger. :3

Tonight’s story… I was clothes shopping, remembering why I hate it. Found a cute dress, tried it on. It fit well on my midsection but my back was too broad… and each size - 12, 14, 16 - I went up, there was _no additional give_ in back, just same 36 inch size. I’m a victim of my gym successes. 😭😭😭
