This idiot actually had a decent message for most of his speech then ruined it by invoking Jesus, Trump, the Golden Fleet, and sending the military to abduct our opponents and their wives in the night. Husted was meh. Everyone else was good. The mayor was great.
It was well done, by the Navy and the city. Lots of history and traditions, not just irt ceremonial stuff but also to previous USS Clevelands and it sharing hull number (31) with USS Stark (39th anniversary of attack tomorrow). Also tie in with local industrial base contributions to the ship.
I'm a couple days late, but this night and the days that followed are forever graven in my psyche. Thirty years gone but never forgotten. Semper Fidelis.
Today was a good day. Took a road trip. Watched a great man get pinned with a star. Reconnected with Army folk. Enjoyed a gem of a military museum I didn't even know existed. Spent quality time cuddling with my love. And 31 years ago today I started a life-defining journey. A few random pics.
