This is old so for 2026 I would update it by adding poop lettuce and topping it with a fat orange
I completed what I would consider my first “real painting.” It’s a photograph I took of Waikiki Beach, converted into a paint by numbers as a base. I’ve been picking at it changing colors and adding things for a couple months now. It’ll never be “done,” but I have it in my office at work now :)
Just took this snap from the edits of my upcoming recipe book. Sturgeon is a dense, rich, buttery white meat, gamey as fish can go, like cod x catfish. Just delicious. Cook plainly without spices as you want the natural flavor to be the feature.

Kopfsalat: butter lettuce, tomatoes, baby shrimp, sunflower seeds, with a chunky avocado-lemon dressing and topped with fresh chives and purple chive flowers
Recent delicious meals that photograph well: 1 steak and spinach tartines with zucchini 2 mussels steamed with herbs and wine, garlic toast 3 Dutch baby with smoked salmon, crème fraiche and sweet onions 4 morel fettuccine with butter, smoked chicken thigh
This isn’t a great photo but it drives home the idea that my 5th and 45th birthday had the same theme: pink and sparkly and unicorns and stuff. I already ate all the cake (strawberry champagne) and just left the pink buttercream. 😅
I asked google “what happens when a woman turns 45” and not only are the answers VERY telling about how we view and value women, but it devolves down a looks-as-value based rabbit hole pretty quickly All I know is women fall off the charts in dating apps in what men look for, generally 18 to 44 😭
Strawberry 🍓 season 😍 Aside from the ice cream, i made strawberry custard 🥄 and strawberry cupcakes 🧁 with strawberry cream cheese buttercream frosting. 0% artificial anything!
