I don't often get to the Upper West Side, but when I do I go see the Lajos Kossuth monument, the 1928 unveiling of which was apparently my great-grandfather's toehold into the United States. Long story short, not all of our ancestors "did it the right way" 🤷‍♀️

I saw "Mrs. Warwick Hobart" in some Women's Joint Congressional Committee correspondence and assumed Warwick was her husband's name -- glad this old column is still around to clear that up 🤷‍♀️ #ladylobbyists

I've seen this too in my study of the civil rights lobby; e.g., the same 89th Congress that passed the Voting Rights Act in 1965 was working to undermine enforcement of the Civil Rights Act a year later
