You ever notice how SISTER ACT, LEGALLY BLONDE, and MISS CONGENIALITY are basically the same movie? This isn't a bug, it's a feature, it's why they've remained sorta timeless and endlessly re-watchable, it's because 'plot' doesn't matter.
No one told me there was a blonde Raymond Lee in SUGAR, now it has to move up the priority.

Film Noir in colour? It's more likely than you think! NIAGARA (1953) is one of my favourite Noirs, so I made a little video about it to recommend it to people.
But also, even the "flops" for the Rock were moderately successful at the Box Office, they just had untenably large budgets...
Not to "Um actually" but this isn't true, he's had decent hits quite a lot, and more importantly he's HUGE in the international market, so much like Nic Cage or Keanu Reeves, he covers a ridiculous amount of international pre-sales. (central intelligence have a 50mil budget so it's a hit)

Claustrophobic settings. I mean he very clearly watched THE VVITCH and HEREDITARY in prep and both of those are firmly in that same world of framing.
I don't mean to "Um actually" here, nor defend Disney, but centre-framing predates mobile phones and social media. And slapping a frame over a filmgrab isn't proof of a stylistic degradation because you can do this with many films. Including and especially almost the entirety of Kubrick's ouvre

I raise you the surrealist legal drama (with a mean comedic streak): THE GOOD FIGHT
Absolutely kicking myself for not seeing THEY WILL KILL YOU on a cinema. A balls-out blast! The trailer really undersold it (and kinda understand why, now). Plays like Kill Bill by way of Sam Raimi, endlessly inventive, visually. Looney tunes physics abound.
I know they're all ridiculously hot white guys, Buuuut the fact that Openly Gay actors are now leading *Major motion pictures* on the regular gives me a lot of hope. We have a ways to go for seeing truly earth-shifting changes, but things like this give me immense hope.
My god WIDOW'S BAY had an absolutely perfect season of TV. That's one of my favourite things ever,feels like it was tailor made just for me, and yet the huge reach it's having is so wonderful.
There's a comic, MERRY MEN that could work as a good starting point, although the adaptation would have to do a lot of legwork cause the comic is less plot, more vibes. I also don't know that the title would be particularly enticing to laymen.
