You can see here ICE agents firing teargas for what seems to be people throwing disposable water bottles in the air. They had just shots dozens of teargas canisters at a non-violent line march full of teachers and nurses. People are collecting the canisters to put them out.
This was the kind of treatment the union activists got today from Oregon’s largest unions alongside coalitions like @jwjpdx.bsky.social. They fired projectiles and injured many demonstrators and broke out neighbors windows. Gas for a half dozen miles in each direction. #iceout
Thousands of union members staged a nonviolent march today. iCE gassed the crowd of nurses and teaches. The neighborhood is in a cloud. Flash bangs are being fired.

They eventually let everyone out after citing them.
"This is your final warning" as nonviolent protesters are taken in by immigration authorities.
They have received multiple demands for dispersal. They stay committed to the air in.
Downstairs there is a solidarity rally with other hunger strikers and supporters. They also start calling Senator Duckworth’s office to demand fair treatment and a meeting to discuss the devastation of Gaza.
Here these organizers ask for their meeting and are ignored. Eventually they begin chanting, and federal officers then enter and order dispersal. The air-in continues regardless.
After spending nearly thirty minutes ignoring the knocking and requests of these activists, Duckworth’s office called the police instead of meeting with them. They sent Department of Homeland Security officers, the same agency supporting ICE deportations.
