As Columbus grows, we have to make every dollar invested in affordable housing dollar go further. I sat down with Columbus native, national expert, and Center for Public Enterprise leader @pewilliams.bsky.social to discuss innovative tools that could help Columbus.
Great to connect with OSU Professor Dr. Victor St. John from Love is Blind Columbus. Talked about how we engage young people in the political conversation. Keep it up brother!
Tonight, the applicants to the inaugural Columbus LGBTQ Affairs Commission gathered in City Council Chambers. At a time when the LGBTQ community is facing attacks across Ohio and around the country, every person who applied chose to lean in, not step back. That gives me hope. 🏳️🌈
City Hall's first Juneteenth illumination last night was powerful! Juneteenth reminds us that freedom delayed is freedom denied. The strength and resilience of our community lives on. @repbeatty.bsky.social
After speaking at Columbus Alternative High School’s commencement, I returned to my alma mater and was reminded of a project I did as a student that made me passionate about public policy.
Remembering Jesse Jackson, whose passing marks the loss of a giant but not the end of his impact. Without Rev. Jackson, there would be no President Obama, and no generation of Black leaders able to lead with the same clarity and courage.
Mark Twain said: “Loyalty to country, ALWAYS. Loyalty to government, when it deserves it.” #nokings
📣 🚨 The village of Brice is operating as little more than a speed trap. It needs to be stopped. Share this tweet so Columbus neighbors know what’s happening and give me your take: should I put this billboard up at the city-village border? 🧵 (1/8)
Growing up in Southfield, it was awesome to be back for the 25th Annual Southfield Reunion. Nothing like being home with old friends and neighbors!
Celebrated the Grand Opening of Starling Yard today. Historic Starling Middle School transformed into affordable housing in Franklinton.
🏳️🌈 Happy Pride + No Kings Day, Columbus. June 14 isn’t just 614 Day-it’s a celebration of who we are and a reminder that no one rules over our freedom. Pride started as resistance & today we carry that same spirit in our fight for justice, joy & true liberation. No kings. No closets. No backing down.
Honored to represent Ohio this weekend at the San Diego Victory Fund Brunch with Mayor Todd Gloria. Out elected officials are more important now than ever. @lgbtqvictoryfund.bsky.social
Took my son with me to vote today. Every time I walk into the voting booth, I’m reminded that we’re not just casting ballots—we’re shaping the future for the next generation. Let’s lead by example. If you haven’t voted yet, polls are open until 7:30pm. Let’s do this—for our kids and for Columbus.
Join me tomorrow for Community Hours with Rep. Latyna Humphrey! Looking forward to discussing issues at the city and state level.
🎉 It’s my birthday, y’all — and I want to celebrate with you! 🎂🎶 Join me on April 15 at The Junto Hotel for good vibes, great people, and an incredible live performance from Mojoflo! 🕺🏽💃🏾 📍 The Junto Hotel 🕕 6:00 – 7:30 PM Let’s take a moment to celebrate, connect, and keep building community together
Proud to stand with leaders who put our kids first. I’m endorsing Dr. Jermaine Kennedy for Columbus School Board because he’s committed to excellence, equity, and opportunity for every student in our city. Let’s build a brighter future together.
I'm standing with Senator Cory Booker as he speaks out about this reckless administration.
Last night @cbuscitycouncil.bsky.social hosted a packed house for our Iftar dinner. Honored to bring community together in the spirit of unity, reflection, and gratitude. May this month be a blessing.
Great afternoon connecting with Columbus City School students at the HBCU College Fair! Proud to lift up HBCUs like my alma mater Morehouse.
These are just a few things that dismantling the U.S. Department of Education would mean for the State of Ohio. Democrats and Republicans in Congress must stand with teachers and children to repel the President's reckless, stupid, and illegal executive order.
Honored to meet with Cindy Lazarus, the second-ever women City Council President of Columbus, during #WomensHistoryMonth. Her leadership paved the way for so many, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from her legacy. 💜
Happy St. Patrick's Day Columbus! 🍀🍀 @robdorans.bsky.social @christopherwyche.bsky.social
Happy Proclamation Day Columbus! Proud to recognize Irish culture, history, and spirit that make our city stronger. ☘️
📢 Public Service Announcement After careful deliberation, public input (aka my group chat), and a thorough review of alternative platforms, I’m happy to announce that I’ve officially joined BlueSky! 🌤️
