This is the strongest claim and I thought about it for a while. At first, I was defensive.. after all, I am not misleading anyone (I hope). And my workplace is also very good about this. But... 12/N

I was not worried about AI taking jobs after ChatGPT and I don't remember that being much of the discussion. The discussion of AI taking jobs is recent and mostly due to the astonishing advances in coding abilities. So, 4 years is not the best interval, IMO. It's more like ~1 year. 11/N

Here is where things get interesting. Coding is the exception NOW. But is it really that hard to believe that it can be replicated in other (verifiable) domains? And, btw, coding is not 100% verifiable. A user/customer may want something not easily expressed in natural language. 6/N

Two things. (1) Base models don't reason, but since o1 (Sept '24) most models today explicitly "reason" by outputting tokens and using that output to refine their responses. They can still hallucinate and have no way to verify factuality. But they are, objectively, "reasoning machines". 4/N
