New site, new me!! Not really. I have faith in Mother Earth & the wild creatures on it. The masses,,,,not so much. BC Rivers are my secret mistress' & the backyard is my hideaway.
The backyard is still plugging away. Bee balm is a little tired. Hydrangea decided to try & make a comeback this year. Crab apple tree is full.
Starting to think & plan for a couple of months living in a tent, beside a river, in griz country, while pretending it's all about the fish. Little bugs = big fish.
Chasing hummers, while trying to enjoy a beer in the back.
It's been awhile but, here's a couple pics my little hideaway in the back.
Writing up the invoice for the cost of the Abbotsford, B.C. flood here in Canada, because the USA couldn't stop the Nooksack River in Washington State for breaching it's banks. It will be in the BILLIONS of $$$$$$. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Canada Get off the screens & go discover it. It's much better than the fake world.
They may be poisonous, to some, but, not for me!!!!
Woke up & no one has told me what to be mad about today sooooooooooooo, I went & tried to chase a hummer with my phone/camera. That was irritating enough. 😆
The hummers love the foxgloves & so do the bees!!!!!!
Trying to get a video of one of my fav visitors to the backyard while,,,, trying to have a beer. My work is never done.
The garden ferries are showing up in full force now......
The colours are popping now & you couldn't find a happier grumpy old guy.......
The wife of a friend that gave me a small group of them years ago called them Cornflower. They can go crazy in your garden if not kept in control.
No need for poison, traps or a phone call to a company,,,,,,,, I have my own local friends (over 5 years with this crow) that willingly take care of the nasty deeds.
Anddddddd the growing/evolving will not stop for months.
Things may seem dark but, I will always have the backyard,,,,,, and everything that goes with it.
The backyard is starting to spring. Or is that sprung????
Earth Day,,,,, just reminding us that we only have one. Maybe start acting like it.
The fresh smell of alders budding. Hummers are humming, along with dive bombing the careless hiking fisherman getting a little too close Just enough snow on the peaks for pics but, never enough for the summer ahead. And of course, the Steelhead continuing to impersonate unicorns. Spring has sprung.
Michelle F (the statue standing beside PP) thoughts on this, January of THIS year......
Found my spring unicorn and the old knees are feeling it this morning.
The fish are not being very cooperative this Spring but, in the end, it really isn't about them.
Some say I get lost. Others know I'm being discovered.
Happy St.Paddy's Day, to all of the Dreamers, Poets & Believers out there celebrating.
