I always wanted an indoor waterfall, but not like this. Remember to clean your gutters every so often! One we cleaned them during a break in the rain, they stopped overflowing and no more waterfall!

Finally installed a mobile #AmateurRadio setup in my car! Running the wires was painful, but I made it work. Only thing I'm unsure about is the antenna... It's on a magnetic mount on my roof with the wire going through my sunroof. I didn't want to drill holes in my car 😅.

I tried playing with @avaloniaui.net 's re-create UI MCP server. I threw it a curve-ball; trying to recreate the Wii's Forecast Menu UI. I don't think AI is taking my job yet, but it did give it a good attempt!

Some LLM fun today. The last sentence is great 😂.

Me: I need to get my car washed, but the car wash is just 300 meters away. Should I walk or drive?

The LLM:

Walk.

Reasons, quickly:

- 300 m is extremely short; by the time you start the car, you’re basically there.
- Engine wear and fuel use are high on very short cold runs; it’s actually worse for the car than a normal drive.
- You avoid any hassle with parking, traffic, or queuing space around the wash.
- It’s a bit of extra movement for you and zero extra emissions.

Only real reasons to drive 300 m would be:
- Mobility or health issues
- Bad weather / unsafe walking conditions
- You need the car immediately afterward for a longer trip

If none of those apply, I’d absolutely walk, get the wash, then drive away clean.

Built a DIY Yagi Antenna in an attempt to reach a nearby repeater. Alas, my transmissions don't seem to be reaching it. The repeater hears *something* since I hear the curiosity tone, but thats it. The good news is that it can receive just fine 😁. #HamRadio #AmateurRadio

Today was the Rochester #MakerFaire at @rittigers.bsky.social ! My two favorite exhibits were the Lego Donkey Kong set, and the plush train the RIT model railroad club had.

Made an #APRS digipeater recently, and put it in my attic. It detects APRS from folks driving near my house and forwards them to aprs.fl! It is powered by a Raspberry Pi, a SHARI and software called Direwolf. I also made the antenna for it out of some copper wire. #AmateurRadio #HamRadio

I officially have two #Meshtastic nodes up and ruining! One is Raspberry Pi powered, and connected to the antenna on my roof. The other is a bit more mobile. I'm the only nodes in the area by the looks of things, though 😕.
