Here are the sketches, initial and near-production. I had to compromise on the asymmetry/dynamics of the pose

Initial sketch for 2026 pride month art. Right leg is extended forwards more and left arm does not hold a vibe flow, but lets it run through and around the palm (look closely to see partial occlusion).

Near-production sketch for 2026 pride month art. Pose is not as interesting but anatomical proportions are better. The right leg is still questionable, I wanted to pose it traveling laterally w.r.t. to the viewer but each time I tried, the foot would look too thin, or the heel claw would dig into the hamstring. Digitigrade struggles. But I am very happy with the fur changes, though I wish I had more time to add additional fur textures for the limbs and torso

SCENE: Shine spreading their wings as they swing acrobatically on rainbow air currents. LORE: Across the Pacific open ocean, a previously undocumented species of algae has started to release prismatic particles in massive concentrations, forming bizarre structures in the atmosphere. Scientists are hastily researching the phenomenon, with hypotheses ranging from bioluminescence to alien communication. Initial findings show that the hot summer and onset of El Niño have triggered an algae superbloom, but the why's and how's of the colorful emissions remain a mystery. Despite international warnings to avoid contact, wildlife and tourists alike have been observed instinctively seeking out and playing with the unknown matter. Upon touch, the configurations maintain their solid form and vibrant colors for a few seconds before slowly dissipating. Various demographic groups have already assigned particular meaning to this event, none more than the LGBTQ+ community. Pacific coastline beaches and cities are already reporting an influx of queer visitors who adorn "pride" garments and pose with their backs to the shore, taking selfies with the polychromatic objects in the background. Wealthy individuals and international forces are going a step further, traveling in private boats and ships to presumably collect the substance. They do not know that only those of pure heart and joy can wield the VIBES. It is why I, Shine, will find such great joy in protecting yet another civilization from the claws of my mirror image. But until they arrive, it is within my liberty to partake in the carefree revelry that these humans host at this time of year. What is their favored phrase? Ah yes. Happy Pride!
