Diamond vs Moissanite Forgive the video editing. This is not a skill I'm strong in. The diamond and the moissanite are about the same size. The diamond is a round cut faceted by hand, my wife's grandfather to be specific. The moissanite is a cushion cut done with machines and lasers.

Looking closer at it, this one was made by Avon and sold in the mid-70s. It was either a hand-me-down or gift from my grandmother to my mom. They go much further back though. Women wore them for the same reason police used to carry whistles.

Small storytime. Back in February, my wife bought me this ring from @thepeculiary.bsky.social. It came with a topaz in it. I did something stupid and cracked that stone. I found a suitable replacement. Just got this back from the silversmith today. Two-tone sapphire. Durable and sparkly.

The magical thing about yixing teapots is you can't know what you're paying for when you buy it. You have to use it until it discolors, forget about it in a back cupboard for a few decades, pull it out, rinse it clean, and then make tea. It's like drinking fond memories.

One of my best favorite animals, Tim. My first cat after I left home. He arrived 3 days before Christmas. My brother saved him from a breeder that didn't want him and was trying to literally kick him out of her home. He was by my side through so much. I still miss him. 2021 - 2019

We haven't had any big drama yet. So far it's just a low blue-green haze on the horizon like an alien city is glowing in the night.

At last, my missing kitty is home. He was gone for nearly 3 weeks. He's obviously been in a couple of scrapes. His nose is raw. Has a few scratches here and there and there's a nasty looking wound in his ear. He's thin. But he's alive and he's with his family and that's all I could ever ask.
