gdq deserves so much praise for their role in gaming, especially right now. their community is fantastic. you should read this article. but i'd like to highlight this from @pleasantlytwstd.blacksky.app; it stands out to me. we have to be better. (small 🧵)

a snippet from the article quoted. it reads: "'I love our events,' said PleasantlyTwstd. 'I love that we raised so much money for [Prevent Cancer Foundation] and Doctors Without Borders. I do not love that [AGDQ 2026] was a 144-hour-long event, and there were three black people [on stage]. That hurts my heart a special kind of way, especially when you're considering [how close AGDQ is to Back To Black on the calendar]. The pool is there. You have to be willing to engage it. And if that means you have to reevaluate how you do some of your things, then reevaluate, right? ... People don't like changing things. People are just like 'If it's not broke, don't fix it.' But it's like, I'm explaining to you how it's broke.'"
