This fecking heat and absence of rain means there are no wildflowers in the fields, and not very many insects, and I miss them. Got bored this afternoon so blobbed some in watercolour...
40°C in the shade under the awning. Not under the awning...this is the 1st time I've ever seen the thermometer go over 50°C. As you can see, it doesn't go any higher. This is insane!

Wow! Not something you see everyday. I don't know if you're familiar with violet carpenter bees, but they're noisy & BIG, and blue. Just saw a HUGE one land on the bird feeder, only it wasn't. It was two, flying around whilst, uhm...well see for yourselves...😲
OH cooked last night. It was very nice. The kitchen looks like a fucking war-zone, and I very nearly made a nasty slice into my thumb shucking the oysters for him....yes, it's cut, but hasn't gone right into the flesh.
