..what I go for. Definitely do all 1st coats on all your fingers first and let them dry before going for second coats and so on. When you notice the sponge not absorb that well anymore/it's saturated with polish or started to dry I like to move onto the next part of the sponge.
You're gonna start with a base coat on your nail to help the color stick better, I'd generally recommend getting a base coat for the nail but especially for this. Then you're gonna take your colors and put them in stripes onto the sponge. I like to wait a little for them to absorb into it a little.
Ok so you're gonna want one of those cheap triangular makeup sponges and for colors I like a light and dark of the same or similar color, or white-ish. For example I did do ones that were some fingers light blue into dark blue and some very light grey into that light blue.
Thank you! It's Lilac going into Indigo. I was pretty bad at the start too but it's all practice. Also not being afraid to paint outside the lines a lil bit, comes off from the skin very easy. These gradient ones are a little more tricky but still not that hard, I can tell you how if you wanna know
