Tiny tomato test prints - testing different ways to mix the yellow and red ink These will accompany the Summer Heirlooms print in my art print club. 🐌💌 #linocut #linoprint
For me the first bite of a fresh grown tomato is when summer really starts. These lovelies looked like jewels in the sun when I spotted them at the farmer's market. "Summer Heirlooms" This will be the first print in my art print club... #watercolor
New fancy printer, who dis? In preparation for my snail mail watercolor print club, I bought a fancier printer. This test print came out really amazing. Join my mailing list to be notified when the print club launches! buttondown.com/sia.studio #snailmail #artprint #printclub
A bit of plein air painting at Blackwood Farm Park with Raleigh outdoor painting group #pleinair #watercolor #art
Progress... trying not to touch while it dries 😅🖌️ #watercolor #art
🍅 This one is taking a while to finish, but I love it. I rotate around the tomatoes to paint each layer, letting some dry and some blend. It always goes through an ugly phase before the final layers are added. #watercolor
I'm both excited I'm in this show at the beautiful @redoakbrew @griffithartmuseum (seriously - it's a beautiful venue with a sculpture garden too) AND I feel like I won an award or something because I made it onto the promo posters with my sunflowers painting 🌻🥰 #watercolor #artshow #art
I don't normally share process videos, but I love the way the light is hitting these tomatoes at the farmer's market. It makes me think of summer so much with the hot sun beating down and the juicy flavors of a fresh tomato. 🍅🌞 #watercolor #art
Been working on an art market sign and just finished these add-ons that hang from the main sign. I have my first big art market in August and I'm both nervous and excited. #artmarket #artistlife
I love tomatoes. When I was a toddler, my mom had to beg my Greek grandparents to stop giving them to me because I ate so many I had a rash around my mouth. This little study both reminds me of that but also it's a proud gardener moment. Watercolor on paper 9 x 6.75 in Available #watercolor
Are you interested in a snail mail art print club? 🐌💌 I think I'd be happy with even a few subscribers because I just love snail mail. 😄 The current theme I'm mulling over is "tiny observations" ... #snailmail

New small piece from my trip to the NC mountains recently - Mountain Laurel 7 1/4 in square Daniel Smith watercolors on Arches 100% Cotton paper #watercolor #nativeplants
Sketching at the Durham Bulls game #urbansketching #usk #art
Quick ink sketch of a skull sculpture while mentoring. Added a bit of water to make it melty and encourage the ink to split colors #ink #inkdrawing #sketchbook
Small, quick plein air sketch of this part of the steam. On the Catawba Falls trail near Black Mountain/Old Fort NC #pleinair #watercolor
Lovely day painting at Duke Gardens with @ncartmeets.com ! Today I focused on the rose garden so that I could paint the fountain. I love all the potted succulents that surround it too. Cc @warriorpainters.bsky.social #pleinairpril #pleinair #watercolor
Finally calling this one finished. It's a very typical North Carolina river scene for those that hike or do plein air painting a lot. I love the red bridge. Starting to notice a pattern with red bridges 😄🌉 #watercolor #art
First flush tea harvest! Last year I got 3 tea camellias. I'm excited my white tea bush is even more prolific this year so I have a decent harvest here. A few leaves from my lipton bush are mixed in. This is a white tea harvest which is a bit easier that making green or black tea
Santorini on my mind... I was probably on my way to taking a friend to watch the sunset when I caught this view on camera. It's my 2nd or 3rd attempt at capturing it in watercolor. Something about the light, colors, and strong geometry really capture my eye. #watercolor #santorini #greece #art
Another watercolor I just finished. The reference photo was from my trip to China in 2014 after my dad died. I needed to get away to come to terms with the immediate grief. I remember walking up this path and being mesmerized by the light going through the lanterns and the pavilion. #watercolor
I really like how this still life of apples came out. The colors and the light just really speak to me. I should jokingly call it How you like them apples to also honor my time in Boston 😆🍎🍏 Watercolor on paper, quarter sheet (11.25x15 in) #watercolor #stilllife #apples #art
A little urban sketching this morning in Durham cc @ncartmeets.com #urbansketching #usk
Happy accidents? I was doing a demo for my class and thought my pen was waterproof. It was not. The class gasped in horror. It wasn't planned, but I ended up with this beautiful, impressionistic ink and wash of a church in Oia, Santorini. #watercolor #ink #urbansketching #santorini #greece #art
Painting kissing circles in watercolor is always so meditative. I was reminded of that while teaching my urban sketching class the basics of watercolor. Need to do this more often. #watercolor #art
Another painting I finished up on Sunday. I really like how the vase turned out #watercolor
I really like how this onion still life came together. It's from the first week of JJ Jiang's watercolor course. Finally finished it on Sunday. I'm definitely going to have to take some of my own onion reference photos and repeat the exercise. 🧅 #watercolor
