Good luck, I hope you get to Shetland. It’s definitely cooler there!
tinder dry everything is, even here. Hoping you’ll all stay safe, but do have a ‘go-bag’ prepared just in case. When OH was going through a series of medical emergencies I always used to keep one packed but have got out of the habit of it. Worth thinking about…
There’s a conversation further down about noisy birds - we have noisy magpies this morning which usually means a cat in the garden so I looked out and saw this little fella next door!
Well the noisy magpies usually means a cat in the garden, so I looked out and saw this little fella next door!
Good morning Hilary and fellow ORCs. A beautiful morning here in Sussex. Cousin flies back to the US today, and I return to Surrey to face the heat of the week. But meanwhile, here’s a view!
With similar-sounding feet, I bought these in black from Vivaia. Not cheap, but very comfortable.
Bonjour Clare, ORCs. I’m feeling very stiff, too much exercise yesterday, although I still haven’t made it to the bluebell wood. However, the blossom is exceptional in the village this year - here are just two of the trees I met yesterday! Household chores day today - laundry and food delivery.
Morning Clare, morning all. I didn’t make it all the way to the main bluebell wood yesterday but here are a few pics from along the way. Another quiet day today so I might try again if the weather’s good.
Bonjour CiF and ORCs. We made it to Friday! This week has felt tough - trying to sort out some medications but blood test results were all ok, thankfully. Off to see chiropractor this morning, then I can relax for the weekend. Happy Friday one and all! Spring pics from a walk yesterday.
Good morning Steve and fellow ORCs. What a beautiful day yesterday - although, from a climate change perspective, what a frightening one. Here’s one tree, caught on my walk yesterday, that thinks Spring has arrived.
Morning all. There’s a faint light in the sky these days at 6:45! I managed to get out for a walk yesterday between torrential downpours - more like April than February. Walking is almost back to normal - my right knee isn’t quite there yet but my left is doing well. I managed 5000 steps!
Certainly no experts, but we have for some years grown Lemon Queen here for some years.
Morning A-W and ORCs. I managed to get half my Christmas / birthday cards written and sent yesterday (and bought stamps - the horror!) so will be finishing them today and then doing the tree over the weekend. My tiny tree (all of 8” tall) is already up! Have a good weekend, one and all.
Bonjour Chats en France! And ORCs everywhere. Splendid day yesterday, went with OH to nearest National Trust gardens, walked 1.5 miles including small hill, then sat by lake in the sun as he went off to do a further circuit. Prob won’t be able to do very much today but..! Happy weekend, one and all.
Morning CiF, fellow ORCs! A happy day yesterday as with the help of trekking poles I made it to the top of a small local hill in glorious sunshine. It’s been on my goals list for the past year. Today is my final Pilates reformer physio session (at least for now) so I’d better get going. Tea first!
Two #notmycats playing in my garden after discovering the huge pot of catnip on the table. They’d had a few…
I love this Graham Beck sparkling rosé which is pretty, pink and delicious, but there are also some lovely Italian Proseccos around in pretty bottles.
Morning! Just happened to catch this from my bedroom window. Fading but still visible now as the rain falls. A day of household chores, tidying up and and deliveries here.
Morning A-W and #SORC s! Clear and calm outside. Gardening may be on the agenda if it stays like this. Meanwhile, here are some sunflowers…
Morning all. All the ripe tomatoes picked yesterday, ready for skinning and cooking today. Let the sauce-making begin.
Morning Arm-Wap and #SORC s. Today is tomato-picking and sauce-making day (part 1). Lots of ripe ones, lots of unripe ones so there’ll need to be several batches this year…
