40-something Brit 🇬🇧 living in rural Ireland 🇮🇪 with my bear of a husband 🐻🏳️🌈 Sometimes NSFW 🔞 If you don’t want to see my junk, don’t follow me.
Second year in a row seeing Sophie Ellis Bextor at the Galway Arts Festival. She always puts on a fun show. 💃🏻 Support this year was Kate Nash... not quite the same vibe. 😅
I think she played every track from Sexistential (it's a short album) and I honestly don't love the album but the live performances made a difference. A scattering of older stuff, a surprise visit from CMAT, and an epic finale in Dancing On My Own. She's an incredible performer.
Very basic but effective staging too, a scaffold with a grid of lights, a translucent screen, and some white fabric. The opening was so cool, she was silhouetted on the fabric and a light bar lit her so that it looked like she was moving side to side. There were some other cool lighting effects too.
Took the dogs to Connemara this afternoon, a good run on a boggy hillside followed by exploring a wind farm.
Bank holiday here today. We went to meet one of Rob's mom's friends for brunch and stopped at Marks & Spencers for picky bits for dinner later, sitting in the garden moving the patio furniture around to keep it in the shade. 🥵 Might be time for a medicinal G&T...
We're avoiding Rob's dad so we went to Tamworth for some retail therapy and a walk around the park. Pretty sure people think one of us is Oran's dad until Rob gropes him. 😉
Had a blast marching with the bears at Birmingham Pride today, great to meet some of the people from my phone! @bearbares.bsky.social @lthrcigarbear.bsky.social @bearden64.bsky.social @eamonnfarrell.bsky.social
One of the reasons I was happy to switch to Android was to fiddle with customisation. But I never did that. I just installed a load of random shite to see how it worked and my homescreen was a mess. Well, no more! Behold, Niagara launcher, super minimal but easy access to all your apps. Love it! 😍
It's kinda surreal seeing your husband in promotional images on Scruff. @bearbares.bsky.social
Finished the last #DungeonCrawlerCarl book this morning, fuck me those books are ridiculous. 😆 2 weeks until the next one is released...
Sorry for the spam but I'm so incredibly proud of @bearbares.bsky.social for putting himself forward for Mr Bear Ireland. He's never been shy, but he did have significant anxiety around body image and self esteem. He's worked so hard to overcome all that and this is an incredible outcome for him.
It's our anniversary today (14 years married but ≈25 years together), and last night one of the drag queens in the George did one of our wedding songs. ☺️ Happy anniversary @bearbares.bsky.social
One of the guys on stage last night was kind enough to get some snaps of me and Oran watching Rob. Thanks @decleather.bsky.social! 😘
Rob had his first "official" event today, bear bus tour around Dublin with a few photo ops around the city with all the other bears. Now we're chilling in a bar before we go to another bar for him to be presented to the gays of Dublin as Mr Bear Ireland.
Having a blast at Bear Féile! Big furry party last night, music bingo this afternoon.
I did lose him for a minute, though. 😅 He followed the other two into the trees and they came back without him! 😳
Timber hasn't thrown up on the short drive to the bog for a while so I decided to try a longer drive today and took him to the woods for the first time. He threw up on the way there AND on the way back, but he had a blast so it was worth it.
Beautiful evening for a walk with the dogs after work. I like winter, but I miss these brighter evenings!
My awesome husband Rob is taking part in the Mr Bear Ireland 2026 contest in a few weeks! You can vote here if you feel so inclined. (You have to use a Google account, sorry.) docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
This isn't a one-off, he does this all the time, sometimes sat like that, sometimes on the sofa next to us.
Our other dogs get interested sometimes if there's a dog barking on TV, but Timber is a proper little telly addict. 🖤
