I bloody love graduation ceremonies. So many luminous, happy, smart young people, each to be rightly celebrated. This was the #Engineering and #Science Sheffield University ceremony. A rough count 60:40 ladies to men; so positive. The world needs brilliant people, brilliant women especially so.

I still come across people claiming that #Hydrogen cars are the future. I try not to laugh. So here is an update on the splendid comparison chart by @mliebreich.bsky.social with a realistic extrapolation to the next generation #EV

The question isn't "Do renewables require mining?" It's "Would you rather mine fuel forever, or mine infrastructure that keeps generating energy for decades?" For the same useful energy over 25 years, fossil fuels are, literally, a disaster #Climate #Energy #NetZero #Renewables #ClimateAction

And by 27% I actually meant #EV sales are up 34%. 27% is the market share, up from 24%. EV sales this month were pretty much the same as #diesel sales for the year to date. Winners: Abarth, Alpine, Jaecoo, Leapmotor, Xpeng. Losers: DS, Mazda, Ineos, Subaru, Fiat.

UK Domestic #Renewables 2024 260,000+ MCS‑certified #SolarPV installation, a record year. Heat pump installs up 43% year‑on‑year. Battery storage up 105%, with most installed alongside solar. Solar PV prices fell from £9,238 to £7,561 on average

Meanwhile, #battery costs fell 45% in 2025 and deployment grew 46% to an ~250 GWh. The world installed enough battery capacity in 2025 to shift around 14% of new solar generation from midday into other hours of the day. ember-energy.org/app/uploads/...
