What you come up with when you've been seeing a lot of posts related to Jessica Rabbit, but you still have Dragon Quest on the brain. Pose ref: @jookpubstock.bsky.social
If you're like me, you're probably wondering how they could POSSIBLY make a battle against Magikarp worthy of a 7-star Raid. ...They don't. 😛
Going into "we ball" mode for this one after days of procrastination. Honestly, I can't say I'm too pleased with the face or hair at the moment, but I thought I would address the parts I struggle with most first this time. I'll see if I can fix things as I go along. Just trying to get this done!
Anywaaays, have a WIP. I haven't touched this sketch in 2 weeks now, but I DID have something fun in mind for Pride Month. Somebody, please light a fire on my backside, so I can MAYBE finish a drawing again one day! 😛 Pose ref: @theposearchives.bsky.social
In 650+ hours of Dragon Quest XI, I FINALLY found the most elusive monster of them all: The Invisible Malicious Jargon! (This is a glitch, btw.)
Feedback wanted: I got an idea for another fun swimsuit-themed piece, and I think this figure sketch has gone well for the most part. But I'm not confident about the placement of the left (our right) arm. (The hand is where I want it to be, though.) I'd appreciate any and all input!
What's this? Fanart... from SirGOGetter?!? Well, kinda. It's not a fully-rendered work, but I thought I would work on a quick sketch-and-color project for the night. I kinda needed to show myself I'm capable of "finishing" something, even if it's not a huge piece - I like it! CW: Teh swimsuit.
An internet connection that will drop the VERY moment you're about to win a set with a 5-frame jab is truly diabolical. Your favorite villain WISHES they were this evil!
The most empowering follower I've had in a while - and I had TWO superhero accounts follow me today! 😛
Playing around with a few ideas these days (maybe too many, considering I still can't finish anything... lol). At least I've gotten better at sketch some things down, as opposed to just thinking about them. (And yes, feel totally free to offer input on either image if you feel inclined.)
That I'm able and willing to post these images means that my first cashew milk cheese attempt was a success. Despite my concerns about the fermentation, the result turned out about as well as I could have hoped for!
Developing story: While Golden Week will be done by the time I finish this little project of mine, I am getting close enough to the end to feel good about it. One final teaser as I work on about the final few elements of this piece.
For my first face rendering in a good while, I don't think this is a particularly bad outcome so far...! (Why do I struggle so much with blushes, though?)
Well, *something* is happening! I don't want to jinx myself, so I won't elaborate. Just wish me luck, will you? 😛
Despite being an Animal Crossing player since 2002, the year of the GameCube version's release, I had actually never managed to complete a Museum's collection... until today! A long overdue gaming feat is now checked off the list! (Sadly, I had to cut Blathers off for... blathering too long.)
LOL at me tripping into the struggle of drawing upturned faces months after it became part of an artist challenge meme. 😛
A cool thing about my recent pose study routine is that I've found it easier to get to drawing from a reference I saw earlier, as was the case for tonight's practice. I'm also finding myself saving the progress files of these studies, just in case I want to do more with them later! 😉
A quick update before calling it a night. It's a bit tough to see, but I got around to redrawing the pose with the critiques I received in mind. I'll probably do another pass tomorrow and see where it leads.
Here's a breakdown of my drawing alongside the reference. If you want a more detailed explanation of my process, read the ALT text (it's pretty straightforward). I'm still very much learning myself, but I don't mind sharing if it can help someone else.
Tonight's pose study... Although maybe - just MAYBE - this could be something a bit more?!? I actually really like how this turned out, and with a few tweaks... well, stay tuned for developing news. *Constructive feedback appreciated* Pose ref: @adorkastock.com
A fun pose study today! Still just trying to focus on being fairly consistent with these and not worry about making them part of full illustrations or anything like that. I *think* it's having a positive impact so far. Ref: @adorkastock.com *Critiques appreciated but not requested.*
My last gesture sketching post, for some weird reason, went well, so have some more that I just finished! I'll admit that my history with doing timed sketches has long been... complex, but despite my challenges, I'm at least able to enjoy doing these now. I even draw one I like occasionally! 😛
One of my favorite recent gaming achievements was being able to bring a fairly decent amount of my treasured Pokémon from the 3rd-5th gens over to Home and the more recent titles. It's very rare to get a payoff in gaming that was literally over a decade (and maybe two) in the making like this!
I barely put any thought into doing a bunny suit piece until today, so here's me trying - and STRUGGLING - with a series of 2-min gesture thumbnail sketches to see if I can come up with something fun. I'm not sure if any of them stand out or look great, but I'd be willing to hear some opinions.
While I see how some would consider her moveset being a mixed bag, there's still some good stuff here. Ingrid's movement speed, s.MK, counter special, and aerial dive/hurricane kick are all moves I enjoy using. Perhaps my biggest setback was not being an SFA3 player, but I did okay enough.
I'll be *that guy*... As someone who's only used Ingrid twice in a span of about 12 hours, I don't think she's that bad of a character! In fact, I'm liking quite a few of her tools here and am now more curious to see how SF6 incorporates them into the game!
Post a non-religious photo you think of as holy. Sorry... best I can sell you is a non-religious clip featuring a religious statue doing something that isn't holy but still might make you say "HOLY...!" That should be close enough, right?
I had the idea to do a fun little screenshot redraw project as part of my nightly drawing practice, but the face has been kicking my butt the past couple of nights. I still don't have a specific way of drawing eyes, and the expression is also tough to get right. Still, it's a low-pressure thing.
