Highly recommend South Korean horror thriller The Eyes 눈동자 (2026), starring Shin Min-a 신민아 and Kim Nam-hee 김남희. Watched it at CGV by Regency Theaters in Buena Park, CA, yesterday. Playing across the US and Canada now. Review on my site soon.

This is how the hydration break should be covered. It’s been said before but worth repeating. Credit to Telemundo for finding a way to stay with the football rather than switching to an advert.
I know you're supposed to dislike everything in this World Cup, but I think the momentum chart is not bad. The robot giving the ball to the ref meanwhile is just bizarre. Always worth remembering opinions are not facts.
South Korean horror film The Eyes 눈동자 (2026) - starring Shin Min-a - opens on Friday, July 10 at Regency Theaters Buena Park at The Source, CA (formerly CGV) and Regency Theaters Koreatown in Los Angeles, CA. More screenings in the US and Canada expected. Released by JBG Pictures USA. #filmsky
Jesse Marsch doesn't appear to be everyone's cup of tea, but he's guided Canada through to the last 16 of the World Cup. 'You are Canadian heroes' was his message to the squad at the end. Can't disagree.
Every time I look at this bloody table I'm so annoyed at Scotland's tactics. No hysteria or hyperbole, no blame game. Just wish Clarke - who did very well for Scotland overall - had tweaked his game plan to push forward more, even marginally, than sitting so deep and defending.
There's a wee Scottish detail in Toy Story 5 that I'm taking as a good luck sign for tomorrow. Come on Scotland! The film was great, after a little bit of a slow start. Subtly funny and sentimental at the right times.
SoFi Stadium, Iran v New Zealand. This is the view from the cheap seats!
Great atmosphere in downtown Long Beach at the LA Galaxy fan fest for the US v Paraguay. Lots of different shirts on display, from the US (obviously) to Mexico, Argentina, Milan and even a guy in a battered old Millwall top. Lots of passion for football here.
Not exactly sure if there's World Cup fever in California, but there's plenty of stuff in the shops. I was given a Ballers figure, haven't bought any more. Here's Ferran Torres beside some old Corinthian legends. There must still be a market somewhere for new Corinthian figures.
Felt there was something lost in translation in The Bus: A French Football Mutiny. Supposedly exclusive access to Domenech's diaries but then just a few sparse words from them. The film could have been all about him. Quite a character. Not enough depth overall, skims the surface.
A little late, but here's my Serie A team of the season. Very attacking team, a few out of position. Could also have included Malen, Wesley, Baturina, Zielinski or Thuram. From Fotmob lineup builder, if anyone would like to compare teams.
World Market with a schoolboy error. How dare they say Tunnocks is English. I pointed out the mistake to a rather bemused employee. Tunnocks is ours! Yes my surname is Polish, but I'm from Glasgow.
Lucky enough to catch Salmokji: Whispering Water 살목지 (2026) at CGV by Regency Theaters in Buena Park, CA, yesterday. A chilling, supernatural horror. Great watch. Will post a review on my site soon. I'm worth a follow if you like Korean films. #filmsky
The yearly reminder that Sampdoria did actually win a European trophy is always kind of sad considering the club’s current position. The top flight and European football must be an objective for Samp, not in the next decade but in the next few years.
Great news that Colony 군체 (2026) will be released in the US in late August. From the brilliant Yeon Sang-ho, director of Train to Busan 부산행 (2016), Peninsula 반도 (2020) and The Ugly 얼굴 (2025). Very grateful to @wellgousa.bsky.social for continuing to put South Korean films into cinemas / theaters.
Brilliant second half comeback. Can tentatively say Sampdoria are almost safe now. More fouls than meaningful moves, but the creativity of Begic and Cherubini opened up the Pescara defence for the goals. Make Lombardo permanent coach, he deserves it.
Excited to see that South Korean horror film Salmokji: Whispering Water 살목지 (2026) will be released in cinemas / movie theaters in the US later this month. It's still important for me to watch films on the big screen.
Ruud Gullit in a classic Sampdoria away shirt in the 1993-1994 season. Roma fans will most likely know the defender alongside side him. Not easy though. Pic from Sampdoria Anni 80.
The majestic hair, the flair and flamboyance, fearlessness, pace, and skill. Gianluigi Lentini at his peak for Torino in the 1991-1992 season. Such a shame his career petered out after the car accident. Picture from Album Figurine.
South Korean spy thriller Humint 휴민트 (2026), directed by Ryoo Seung-wan and starring Zo In-sung, Park Jeong-min, Park Hae-joon, and Shin Se-kyung, now available on Netflix (in the US anyway). Had hoped to watch it at the cinema, this is still the second best option. Will post a review soon. #filmsky
