Just finished Lake (PS5 version). I wanted to like it more than I did, & I may have if it wasn't so BUGGY. A few graphic glitches is one thing. Controls not responding, unintended flashing lights, and the wrong dialog playing in scenes are another. If you play this game, make it not on PS5.
QTP with your Top 4 games you’ve played in 2026 so far! Gnosia is a replay. Honestly, if you only play one of these yourself? You should absolutely make it The Island of Doctor Morose. It would have been so easy to phone in "Dr. Seuss style horror point and click" but the devs NAILED IT.
One of my cousins decided he didn't like this 2 days after he bought it and instead of returning it he traded it to me for some of my old DS games I didn't care about. It took me 2 hours of troubleshooting to set this up. But I'll be damned, it can run mods like a champ now!
I like watching videos about people tackling their backlogs. A recent one had a method of having 3 items of each media type max in an easy to reach box and you stick to those specifically. I decided to try something similar, with notes in a cup w/ everything I've started & should finish. ... oh no.
Sometimes I remember I can share more of my photography on here than just my hyper zoomed in cat photos and homemade meals. Here's dinner from last night.
I don't normally brag about my cooking on here but.. Y'all, dinner last night was so fucking good. Salmon and morels donburi with leeks and baby corn and a (I guess homemade because I mixed a bunch of stuff together) spice kewpie mayo sauce.
I get the joke. It's supposed to mimick old websites. But the problem is... I CAN'T LOOK AT IT. I get eye strain very easily, this actually physically hurts me to look at even with glasses. It's worse in the desktop client because they add a filter on all the games to deep fry them.
I would have a little more faith in Itch as a platform if- 1- they didn't make it actually impossible for you to search half their games in the search feature for their desktop client. 2- their April Fool's prank wasn't still up and GENUINELY AN ACCESSIBILITY VIOLATION. Seriously, what the FUCK?
The person who unleashed this upon the world has made a grave error.
Holy shit. This took so long, but it was worth it. ... I definitely have an obsession tho, lol. Can't wait for the final chapter to add another dozen or two so I can go through this all over again. #scarlethollow #blacktabbygames
I can't sleep because every time I close my eyes I think of these blind box dolls I saw today and chose not to buy because they were $30. ... BUT THEY'RE SO CUTE... On the one hand. Good on me for not impulse buying. On the other hand... just. Look at them. The regret is palpable.
I think we accidentally gave Puck separation anxiety. Fiance & I went on a 3 day trip & ever since we came back he has been REALLY clingy and meowy when he doesn't see us. He never sits under my desk, but he's been here for an hour. I'm so sorry, we really thought you were old enough for a sitter!
And that's it. I watched a couple live action tv shows but like. They were ok. Wouldn't put them on my faves list. Honorable mention: my favorite thing of this entire year is Puck, my fluffy fluffy son. I cannot believe the end of 2025 brought me a cat I love so much.
Favorite Manga: Kowloon Generic Romance Hey, you know all that praise I gave the anime? How much I love that anime? How it's my favorite of the year? THE MANGA IS BETTER. The anime is a 9/10 for me. The manga is a 10/10. How did I sleep on this for so long?
Favorite comic: Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees Technically a backlog pick, but. Holy shit. If you are in ANY way interested in horror and the art style catches your attention? You need to read this comic series.
Favorite book: Strange Houses I cannot express how much the twists in this book genuinely blindsided me. It's also significantly better if you also listen to the audiobook at the same time, it just helps to process the diagrams a bit more.
Favorite visual novel: Red Lilies, I made a separate category just for VNs because I read so many of them, if I played RPGs more I would have made one of it too. @butterflylatte.bsky.social put her heart and soul into this game. It takes a GREAT game for me to finish it in 2 sittings. Get it.
Favorite game: Silent Hill f. I am still on my second playthrough of this and choosing between this and Bye Sweet Carole HURT ME. But fuck it, I like this game enough to make it my favorite before even technically finishing it. Ryukishi07 you mad lad you did it AGAIN.
Favorite anime: Kowloon Generic Romance Listen. I know in a year with To Be Hero X and Anne Shirley and City and Takopi's Original Sin that there's a lot of great anime to pick from. But my fiance and I liked THIS. It's nostalgia, but also a breakdown of how it's not real/harmful. It's good.
Favorite cartoon: Common Side Effects If you had told me my favorite cartoon of 2025 would be an Adult Swim original, something I have historically not enjoyed much... I would not have believed you. This? This is different. Definitely worth a watch.
Favorite convention: Holiday Matsuri. I have been to multiple cons this year (granted, I broke my ankle at one and therefore it had to be disqualified because I missed 3/4 of it), but this one was just. Fun. Maybe it's because I was with friends I never get to see in person, but I loved it.
Favorite movie/horror: Sinners I was going to have 2 movies, but... this movie is too fucking good not to take both spots. Oh my GOD, if you haven't seen this movie you are missing out. I don't wanna explain anything. Watch it.
Skelle's Favorites of 2025: This is a thread for a bunch of my favorite things that I watched, read, played, and experienced in 2025. It's not gonna be a long list, but it's fun to look back on my year. Starting with favorite new food: SOUR CANDY? Yeah, I learned something new about my taste buds.
