Someone who lives in my house had a fun time in the shrubbery, and her chaperone let her. She ended up with a trim because she was one big burr down to the skin. We are both having a Benadryl night.

Good thing I ate earlier; I definitely would have lost my appetite had I seen this first.

Relieved that it’s finally here (honestly was worried it would be snatched back from me), terrified that I’ll fail, excited about my research topic (first-gen faculty experiences learning about scholarly publishing), and feeling so privileged that this is a thing I get to do.

Thought I’d start by posting a relatively happy pic, of the beasts on Saoirse’s first day with us. Then I remember that spouse’s drive to get her was extended by 8 hours because of a fire near a major highway junction in SoCal and that we had to evacuate two weekends later. But that puppy belly!
