Sometimes I accidently take a picture of something that is a perfect illustration of what my brain looks like living in this country.
Deciding to not have any internet/computer at home in 2026 means I end up making "art" that resembles a diary entry. Also, its never done. Also, would it kill you to paint a flower or something?
Aww, yeah, you know what the first public sighting of the Duke of Kent means: It's summer, bitches!
I might do a Janet Frame mega re-read. I could use the inspiration. She hit me hard when I was a young'un.
Sad seventies. I'm feeling that decade's fear and loathing at the moment...not even Columbo can save us now though.
I love my fancy DVD of Hell's Angels. Such an insane film. The kind of movie you can only make when you are 21 to 24. And Howard Hughes. I could barely get out of bed when I was those ages. I took a picture of a choice color scene with my new camera. (For years, I would watch this on VHS via TCM!)
My official early solstice Pride Day portrait. I will be creating Nootropics out of ice cream, weed gummies, and streaming television while working on the Loveless/Meantime Mind/Body split this summer in the lab. See you outside in September! Photo courtesy of Cyrus Seward
This is totally the set for the opening number of my Trump musical *Bigly*. Choreography by Vanilla Ice.
Maria and the kids and I went to the brewery around the corner from our house last night and some jazz broke out! I thought Trump was going to end this scourge of random jazz attacks on day one! The kids shared an aquavit. The way kids do. I had a cider aged on raw French oak chips.
I will be reading at this on the 2nd day. Looks cool! FYI: Come are probably my fave Amerindie band of the 90s. I love every song they recorded. Also: *Breakfast with P.G. SIX* should definitely be my new favorite podcast. Thank you to Karen Schoemer for asking me to read at this!
Such a great show last night in the woods of Wendell, MA! Lots of people came out for it and it was so nice to see folks and read and listen to great music. Liz Durette was awesome. Slowpoke Records were likewise awesome. Go see them! Everyone was great. Great to hear Toshi! I know the nicest peeps.
Trigger Warning: I will be reading in the woods tonight. To soften that blow there will be amazing music to listen to as well. *Slowpoke Records* are my favorite *Animal Piss It's Everywhere* side-project. They do a gazey Ride/Spacemen3 thing that really floats my boat.
This is the kind of personal touch that I'm known for at my record store.
Another choice moment from Oshima's 1971 film The Ceremony. Granny with the truth bomb!
You have to see the wedding scene in Nagisa Oshima's The Ceremony from 1971. So pitiful! So sad! What a crazy friggin' movie.
I had no idea that Quentin Dupieux was Mr. Oizo!! Mind blown. I had no idea that the movies I've been enjoying were being made by the person who made the genius album Analog Worms Attack! He has a new movie out with Tim & Eric. Looking forward.
You have never heard this EP by all-female Texas trio Disbanned from 1983, but apparently they are the unwitting pioneers of Gen Z's fashion-sense. The EP is good if you are a fan of Suburban Lawns and Pylon. Buy one online while they are still cheap.
Maria and I will be at Epsilon tonight for the big Glenn Jones, Dredd Foole & Wednesday Knudsen, Lys Guillorn, Liam Grant, Allysen Callery show! Here is a shot of Nace and me at that cool church show a few weeks back. Me and Bill are starting a new duo. Nothing but Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper covers!
There is a hippie drug jam festival in the woods here this weekend and I am ready in case anyone gets lost and wanders in to the store...
A screenshot of BJ The Messenger's performance of "Crackhead" from his appearance on Stairway To Stardom in 1990. I went to some very interesting places on YouTube last night...
My local town music fest this summer. I'm crossing my fingers that Swamp Dogg comes in my store. He gets everything free! AI-font fest posters make all the names look AI-generated. A flock of Geese fans coming my way!
