I'm pretty sure everyone is in a private BeeGees group chat without me.
Here they are about to leave for Australia (first photo). You can see Barry is old enough to have strong memories. I don't know about Maurice and Robin but they do seem to have memories as well... Can't argue with lived experience. I think the second photo is IOM?
That is a sweet detail about the jackets. I guess you must already know where Barry is sitting? I just worked it out, I think. Or maybe the gym is in the back? Shame the door was changed at the Boys entrance. Interesting how no one has stepped up to provide a better poster/plaque.
This is so emotional and I'm not them and didn't go to school there! lol. 😭I think Barry's memories must be so much more vivid and I've wondered if Maurice and Robin actually do remember it? They have specific stories so maybe... ? This is the first I'm noticing the addition is gone!?
okay! Perfect. There is no mistaking it now. Thank you... I just wonder if they went back to that little wooden stage with the three microphones for the concert? We will never know!
Here is a photo showing one of the small steps they are right above. I just assume there are many of these steps leading up to the altar - so hard to tell where they are?
This doesn't happen where I live. But I have friends in Portland, Oregon and this is a thing. And it rains a lot there!
There are (3) Shutterstock photos of Parkinson. What's crazy is the Oswald School Visit was just two weeks before. Robin seems like he is not missing his hair at all. Super confident. And I will never ever get tired of listening to Barry pronounce Chorlton-cum-Hardy. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorlto...
Yes and the new one you found shows off Mr. Handsome. Sitting there mostly quiet. Until he got the biggest laugh of the interview... "lack of maturity." 🤣
Where was Barry? On Sunday, April 12, 1987: On behalf of the Bee Gees, Barry accepts the Decade Achiever's Award from the Royal Palm Polo Club in Boca Raton.
Ok this is me being a bit of a punk. This is 1987. Chain Reaction won for Most Performed Work. Dwina and her cousin Ken Graydon are holding Maurice and Barry's trophies in a way that I don't think is right. But as a random, who cares what I think... 🤷 www.gettyimages.com/search/2/ima...
I can't remember where I read this excerpt but I saved it. It's Bob Harris describing his interview with the Bee Gees. And here is what Bob looked like around November of 1978, the year he interviewed the Bee Gees. 5 of 6/
Oh! So sweet... Thank you for sharing the latest from the museum! ❤️ Bob Harris interviewed the Bee Gees I think around July of 1978, after the Pepper press tour. About the same time as this MCI photo shoot -- and I don't know the date of these, either. 1 of 6/
Thank you for plotting that out! Parody often stops at the parody being the point. Your analysis here is exactly what drew me in:
I've never been able to figure out why Robin isn't in these photos. I think they are celebrating the March, 1978 charts and Robin was in London at the SNF premiere. But Stigwood was there, too. 🤔
I was confused by the 1983 article that said "recent purchase." Should have checked but not THAT important. 😉
Oh, wow. Amazing! I can't find Barry. I thought it might be a Hugh home movie in the HBO doc but checked and it's not there. Can't believe I didn't save it. In the March POP you can see that Vince was there. The NME shows Colin (and V). AI says Vince wasn't there but he was. Still looking for Barry!
Here is a photo of Beri and Andy. And I think one of the little girls is Lulu's sister? I don't know much about her family other than her brother who worked with Maurice. There is also a video clip somewhere of Barry rushing in last minute.
I saw that post but can't find it now. I can't believe you were able to get the bell tower into your shot! Trees are much taller now. I don't know for sure. But I think the two trees flanking the phone boxes are the same two trees in the fountain -- which is very hard to believe but it must be?
Yes. Okay. It's just confusing because the garage on 18 was widened and the second support column is missing. Did you have a look at #14 as well??
Okay so did we decide the photo is in front of #18? Now I can't remember... lol. While it's a sad and boring detail, I find it so interesting the drains are the same. The drain to the left of Maurice's knee is what helped me line things up from the start. Some things never change!
the Bee Gees were scheduled to spend 4 days in Scandinavia for television and promotional appearances in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark starting Thurs, July 20 (as reported in the July 20 Record Mirror). On Friday, July 21, they played the Stockholm Palladium. 3 of 3 END
The bandshell is still there, at St. Hanshaugen Park in Norway. In 2023 I took a screenshot of the location of the performance, and @howdythere.bsky.social found this clipping from the local paper. 2 of 3
It's fun knowing this is at the Landmark Hotel and seeing all of @howdythere.bsky.social 's photos. I've got this as August 2, 1993 based on this press photo. But it might have been the whole weekend?
Saturday, May 31, 1986: Executive Terminal at Burbank Airport. Andy Gibb and Marilyn McCoo among celebrities traveling to Salt Lake City for the Children's Miracle Network Telethon broadcast from the Osmond Studios in Orem, Utah. Andy is wearing CMN swag with the hot air balloon logo.
Oh! Well -- that one is also on Getty. I'm pretty sure it's Madison Square Garden. December 2 or 3, 1976. The 1979 one I have never seen before and weird how Robin is looking right down the lens! www.gettyimages.com/collaboratio...
I don't know if it was the typo or me, but I read it as the LIST being posted and thought, "huh - better come back to it when I have time to think about it, but wow, I've never seen that photo before..." I didn't say anything as I assumed it's a common photo. NOW I get it. Yes! rare, unique angle.
Oh, my gosh! thank you! this is 30 min long so I need to listen in the car tomorrow. It is great to hear his voice! ofc I noticed: Colin and the Gibb brothers did not attend Humpy Bong at the same time. Colin graduated from Humpy Bong July, 1958. Gibb family sailed for Australia in August, 1958.🙏
I have never created a search for this but I might now... It's adorable. I'm just trying to scale back but this is small. Smaller than a Bee Gees Medallion. What's the harm is watching for one...? Very nice birthday score... 🏅Congrats!
