Woman: Did it say "game"? Yeah, yeah, I was playing a game and there was this snake woman. I don't think I was high enough level...then there was a flash?

Robot: ...engine. Oh since you're new I'm supposed to give you this spiel about how you played my special game and lost and now you're zapped inside here and your body says something about how you died and how you're here forever but now you can BLAH BLAH BLAH I don't need to give you all of that other stuff because you're a statue! You just have to stand there and not worry about all of the other weird stuff that...

Woman: Wait, forever? What does it mean forever? I...I still can't move. What am I supposed to do?! What's going on!?!?!

Robot: like a puppy! Oh so I have to get back to doing playtesting with the other humans but don't worry as soon as I can get a few more interesting things in here like some bowls or some really sharp rocks or oooh I bet an OBELISK would look incredible now where would I find that but oh yeah just you know stay there and look AMAZING until I get back okay byeeeeeee!

Woman: Help...?

A short comic about watching where you're going when fleeing cosmic slime entities that show up in the dungeon you're raiding. #tf

A red-haired woman in tight rogue clothes looks over her shoulders as she flees down a lit dungeon corridor. A drop of pink goo hangs ominously over her head without her knowing. She thinks: "Maiden save us! That pink stuff just consumed Torg and Geoffery! We should never have opened that Damned Gate! Thank The maiden my protective amulet kept the splashes off me. I've got to get to the surface and warn the paladins before..."

The woman is now on the ground, half-covered in the pink goo, it having fallen on her with a SPLOOSH. Her knife has clattered to the side. She cries out, "AAAAH! Noooo! Get it ofrghgmmrghrmmm...!"

The woman is now fully encased in goo and is laying in a puddle of it. An amulet glows brightly on her chest. Her thoughts are strained and are being invaded by the goo, which seems to only have low level thoughts of food and fear of light. They have a stilted interaction. By the end, the text and color of the thought bubble imply that she has bested the primitive intelligence of the goo and is now in control of it. She thinks,"Can't Breathe... have to...get..." It thinks, "...FOOD." She thinks, "No! I'm not food! We aren't..." It thinks, "ALL FOOD...
AAAAAH...LIGHT..." She thinks, "...CHEST... BURNS..." It thinks, "NO LIGHT! RUN..CAN'T...WE ARE NOT...IN..." She thinks, "...CONTROL...

I'M IN..."

She thinks, "Control."

The woman is now rising out of the puddle of goo, fully transformed into it but retaining her shape. She is feeling her hair with one hand with her legs spread and balancing her weight on her arms. The effect is a seductive look, though it's not clear if this is intentional. Her lips and eyes are slightly different shades of pink. The amulet continues to glow dimly on her chest. She thinks, "Oooh, well. The Maiden protected me after all. Poor Torg and Geoffrey. I can feel them inside us...me. But they're just voices now. Now where was I...oh yes. I'm going to the surface. After all, the Maiden shared this gift from beyond with me. This hunger...and its power. She must have wanted me to have it. I should share it with others...

Finished Cryptmaster. Fun word game, loved all the riddles. Combat was pretty neat to start but got clunky toward the end, but it was fine. Lots of "ooh I'm clever" moments figuring out various puzzles and riddles.

Lilandra makes unexpected house calls sometimes. Usually ends stiffly for everyone in the house.

The pink demoness Lilandra relaxes on a chair in a modern-looking room. The chair is a comically big breasted woman who has been turned into wood. Lilandra's feet rest on a man turned into black rubber. Two art deco style lamps light the room, being held by a metallic pink statue of a woman with a shocked look on her face. A headless male mannequin stands against the wall behind Lilandra. A naked woman floating upside down and flailing in a pink bubble hovers in front of Lilandra, who is smiling at her and doing some sort of magic with her hand.

Me, engrossed in detailed masking in GIMP: "Damn, that thumb looks good. No clipping, well defined cuticle transitions, natural looking shadows. This render knocked it out of the park. What model did I use for this?" Me, zooming back out and remembering I'm working on an actual photograph: "Oh."

The image shows a zoomed-in screenshot of a thumb in an image editing software program. Much of the non-thumb portion of the screen is blue, part of GIMP's Foreground Select tool. The thumb is low-resolution and looks like pixel art.

The lights have been raised, and we see the wandless woman perched on a small cube her statuefied face smiling. The wand is dormant, and the woman holding it stands with her arm outstretched toward the statue woman as if bidding the audience applaud for a fellow performer.

"All things have a beginning and an ending, yes, even the Crystal City and its nigh-immortal inhabitants. Let us hope that when, someday, it is our time to step off the stage, we can leave the audience with one last stunning impression, that the echoes of our performance will resonate through the halls of time."

The wandless woman has now been fully transformed into a statue. The portal has caught fire and the tentacles appear to be hurting and retreating into the void. The woman with the wand is airborne, a look of triumph on her face as she kicks one leg behind her. The tip of the wand is exploding with flame, mirroring the state of the portal.

"If you've summoned something you're no longer sure you can handle, setting the summoning portal on fire is a pretty reliable way to get it to retreat. Or to trap it in the room with you, depending on your timing."

"Apotheosis" by Simóne and Fae (🧵 4/6)

The woman with the wand is now on the right, the tip of the wand still glowing. Her arms are raised to the heavens. The portal is now on the stage floor, the tentacles fully wrapped around the wandless woman, who is holding the same pose. She has mostly turned to shiny gray plastic as the tentacles are implied to be moving about her.

"Many people think that the divine is inherently a power apart from our world, above and outside it. This suits the thinking of those charlatan priests who learned a spell or two without understanding how and now call that power divine, usually in pursuit of money and fame. But talk to a true priest, one whose relationship with their deity goes beyond sacrament and dogma, and you'll hear them say that divinity lives within the soul of every person, waiting to be uncovered. "Touch" by Simóne and Fae (🧵 3/6)

The wandless woman is now en pointe, her other leg arched behind her and her arm straight out for balance. The one with the wand reaches her free hand out and the two touch. The wand, pointed up and back, has several strangely-colored tentacles coming out of a portal that has formed at its tip which are wrapping toward the wandless woman. The tentacles touch her neck and knee, which have turned a shiny gray color at the site.

The two woman are now in motion. The wandless one jumps backwards but her neck cranes toward her partner. The one with the wand is arched back with her hand over her head. The tip of the wand is beginning to glow.

"Those who study the stars say that they began as clouds of swirling dust in the void. Only when enough dust gravitated to a single spot was the star born: an ignition of unfathomable power. Tell this to anyone who has studied the magic of fire and they will nod in agreement, as this description reflects the mental process used to conjure the spark which is the foundation of the entire school. But I believe that the idea goes far beyond mere literal fire, and also tells the story of the creative fire, the demiurgical spark that allows people to make art more than the sum of its parts. The artist draws the threads of thought and movement together, whirling and coalescing, until they, too, ignite."

An older TF sequence of mine :) When Simóne and Fae want to have a particularly fun evening, Simóne will gather the arcane materials to open a portal across the astral and knock on her old teacher Lilandra's metaphorical door. And someone (usually Fae) ends up the evening's toy. #tf #inanimatetf
